Power tour was awesome. Can't wait to do it again! Here are a few pics.
Driving thru the smokey mountains.
Barber Motorsports park and museum in Alabama
Beale st in Memphis
Doing some repairs in little rock.
And had the hot rod mag suburban get in front of us going into Chattanooga! I was second car in the line. Hope to see the pic in the mag!

Saw your car up at the Z-max dragway finale. I drove my chevelle up earlier in the week and stayed at the Great Wolf Lodge (for my kids).
I had planned to drive out to Chattanooga and catch up with the Power Tour there, but didn't think my kids could handle the driving (4 and 5-1/2 yr. boys).
I did register as a participant, even though I only made it to the finale.
Next year, the wife and I are talking about getting a babysitter and starting the 2014 Power Tour (starts in Concord next year) and at least making it up to Charleston, WV.

The drive from Chattanooga thru the smokey mountains was amazing. We are undecided about next yrs tour. We live in Texas. Texas to North Carolina to Wisconsin to Texas is a big haul... But I'm sure it would be worth every bit of the drive. Hopefully we can meet up in Concorde and do some driving!

It's been a while since I've had any updates, just enjoying the car, until this morning about 9 am. !!!
Going to a friends to help with his el camino. Doin 75-80 up a hill and under load to maintain speed, my drive shaft let go and destroyed my beautiful floor pans, some bracing, exhaust, seat and belt mounts. I pulled the Trans to have it checked and the rear axle seems ok.
driver side looking forward right after it happened.

Passenger side looking rearward after I got it home. This is all that's left of

This could have been much worse, I'm thankful the brace and x pipe took the beating well. The whole exhaust system was lowered 3-4 inches but held together well. The floor pan is dented in 6 inches at the worst spot.

WOW that sucks! Would have never guessed it would happen with just a cam into a stock LY6. Keep your head up, still a very cool car, couple of battle scars and another story, all part of life. Hope the best for you and a fast repair.

Sorry to hear about the shaft exploding.. I had that happen once at the front yolk.. pole vaulted the car sideways into a ditch..
One question.. Everyone says docsblocks.com for the AC compressor fittings.. I cannot find that site for the life of me. Can someone please point me in the right direction??

Not sure, maybe this will help? http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=523462
Sucks about the DS, makes me think I should keep my eyes out for a loop on craigslist. Glad nobody was hurt.

Strange that the ear on the output shaft broke...shows that they might have been something out of whack to being with....I know that I have put the serious amounts of nitrous in various cars on the stock driveshafts....and the only car that I have ever thrown a driveshaft in is a car with an aftermarket driveshaft that was not balanced properly.
What slip yoke did you have?

No DS loop...didn't think I needed one at this power level. But lesson learned, the shop that built the shaft has returned my money and is building another larger tube shaft free of charge. They said it ripped in the middle and was not strong enough. (I asked about strength and repeatedly expressed my power level and manual Trans) I have the car insured thru Hagerty but I don't know if this type of damage is covered. I filed a claim just waiting to hear from them.
I heard they are out of business. Bills classic air in Arlington tx can get what you need.

This was aftermarket, with a factory t56 slip yoke.
