What an interesting find. I don't think there could be a more basic stripped down Malibu. This is what makes it so appealing for the swap, a lightweight car with good power. Yes , it's rare, but you can always keep the original parts if there's a concern of originality for it's minor classic appeal. I would build it to look as close as possible as it sits now, down to the hubcaps. I like this car.

I am usually all about cutting up a car, but this one seems too nice for that. As others have said, I bet is a collector out there that would enjoy having that car in their collection. I'd try to find it a good home. These cars are not super rare, I am sure you can find another nice example for your swap. Just my opinion. It is your car after all is said and done...Good luck no matter what you choose to do.

Anyone can keep a car stock, and non-modified... But it takes a Real man to cut one up...
Single turbo LS swap and t56 or even a T-10 4-speed with a 3.08 gear. 15x10's outback with DR's and 15" skinnies up front with stock hubcaps. Then go beat the tar out of it. I expect pictures and video.

If it had 17,760 miles on it,I would say cut it up and swap it up.I would agree with those who say it's nothing special because of the V6 and no options, but there is something worth preserving in a Chevrolet that harkens back to a place in time with such low mileage and in that condition,I say spare it and find another to build a sleeper out of.I think it would be way more cool to have that car,and beside it a close replica that has a blown LSX motor and T56...

Malibu future
I have my 67 nova tore apart and want to focus on it(427lsx twin 76prec,rossler80,and the kitchen sink) once I have it back together I will figure out the bu's future. Not a fan of a stock car so I will either do something off the normal path of swaps or sell the car. I drove yesterday and I got passed by a kid on a big wheel up hill.

Car is gorgeous, I'd have a hard time changing it. But it's your car. If it turns out as nice as the other one I think it would be ok. You should change your user name to malibus4sale. Let us know what you decide.

I'm not normally one for cutting up a primo old car like that either but, like stated, v6, no options, idk if I'd cut it up but, throw a engine and tranny, any mods you do make them reversible and enjoy the car.
