88 Silverado LM7 swap, questions
#21
Pretty straight forward swap. I put a 5.3 in my 1994 c1500 w/t with a '98 4L60e that originally had a V6. I did a standalone wire harness thru lt1swap.com. dirty dingo motor mount brackets. Factory 4.3 radiator. Modded r4 a/c bracket. Alot of my questions I found answers to on ls1truck.com. Hope this helps

I've since had a 99 Silverado with the 4.8/5 speed, RCSB, which I gave to my father in law at 289k miles, he is loving the thing.
Now I've got a 2006 GMC quad cab/short bed. 4.8/4l60e. I've already done Speed Engineering longtubes with their dual exhaust. Plans are Airaid MIT, 3.73 geared rear with a trutrac, and tune. I'm done with the idea for a performance truck, for now... but as it is my daily driver I do want the bolt ons/tune for a little more getup and go. I have three LT1 cars at my house right now I'm trying to whittle down to one!
So zombie thread, how did everyone's swaps go in the end? Completed? Sold off? I still want another 88/89 someday...

Ls swap help asap
So I successfully installed an 08 ls set up into my 96 k2500. Trans, engine, harness, steering wheel and rear view mirror. Guages and switches of course also. Anyway went to test drive it after bleeding coolant, brakes and power steering. Pulled half way out of garage stopped to check for leaks and it just puttered out.. cranked wanted to start ended up flooding it out from trying to start it so much to now not cranking at all. Relay just clicks. Jumped the starter and it ran for a sec then nothing. I've done grounds, replaced cables, re connected wires to insure good contact and nothing. Marker lights, signals and hazards don't work now either. Dimmer switch was working now it doesn't.
broke my meter so my test light is a ole trailer light.. im lost at this point
