Cable-X converter.

Cable-X converter.
Hello!
I have a 1966 Chevelle, with the original speedometer. I have put in an LS1 engine with a 6 speed T56 transmission (1999). Will Cabel-X work with this combination, or is there something else I need to know?
I heard something about "reluctor" and "pulses", but I´m not sure what it means.
Is there a part# for the Cable-x that I should look for?
Differences between automatic trans and manual gear box?
Hope You can help me out.
Thanks. Pether.

the alternatives are to use an aftermarket Electronic speedometer, or buy the tail shaft housing kit (i think its like $600+) that allows you to use a speedo cable to run the speedometer.
i got the cable x for my swap but havent hooked it up yet, theres a guy on ebay 'TACHMAN' that sells them a little cheaper.

Or you could just use a Scan Gauge II and mount on top of the original speedo cluster. It gives speed plus lots of other readings. Is a code reader as well. Just plugs into your OBD II port and is removable and you can move it from car to car. Its half the price of the Cable X.
