Did you have any fitment issues with the 4l60e in the stock trans tunnel?

Hello folks. It's been awhile since I've been on here so I thought you might like to see some progress. I wanted to use all the 02 Camaro ac. The evaporater was too deep for my original box. So I had to cut off the front and extend the case 2 inches. This is how I did it.

This extension allowed me to use all the stock 02 Camaro ac system. Hoses, accumulator, condensor, radiator and fans. I did have to move the charge port on the liquid line because it was pointed directly on to the radiator support. Here are some pics after it was done.

The car runs and drives "GREAT" I love it. Bye Bye carb. I'll try not to wait so long for future updates. Thank you all who have helped along the way.

Sorry to take so long to respond. The 4L60E was tight but I really didn't have many problems with fitment. Cooler lines a bit tight but cleared, some shifter cable issues since I used my factory console and shifter.I ended up using an F body cable and modified the shift lever. But all in all nothing major.

Great build, love the idea of keeping the factory air box in the chevelle, im doing a similar build and was wondering if you could share more on yours. Did you end up using the fbody ac compressor, condenser, and fbody lines? How well did the air box turn out? I was going to order the vintage air kit for my car, but this is a much more cost effective way to go. Also did you use the factory chevelle hvac controls on the dash? One last thing, how is the compressor wired up? Thanks in advance, and what a great car you have built.

Shane. I used F body everything from the oil pan compressor accy drive alt Radiator condenser fans and ac lines. The compressor was a 1 wire from F-body harness to the factory Chevelle harness. Still using factory controls. Very simple. You can email me if you want to talk more or I'll give you my number. Here is a pic of the dash with Dakota gauge set up. You can see original ac/heat controls are still the same.

You might try to move your air filter farther away from your radiator. The HIGH IAT's will start pulling timing from your tune due to the hot air. I see alot of people do similar intake setups. The cooler the air you can stick in that motor, the more power it will make.

I love how you did that with the air. I might have to steal that from you. lol. I have a 98 ws6 donar car, that I can take all that off of. By the way the car is badass! One of my favorite cars of all time. Wheel choice and stance look classy and not overdone. Great job

No, sadly not by a long shot. Today I work on the HP EFI stuff, and if there is time after the power windows. At some point this week I'd like to get the front seats in and work on getting the front end alignment done. Nothing really hard left to do, just time consuming.

Thanks for the info and you are absolutely correct. The pic you see is before I moved it about a foot beyond the radiator. It helped a lot. Thanks for the input.

Default It's been awhile.

Hello all. I have not been here for quite some time since I got the 70 drivable. But I've been having a whole bunch of fun cruising to car shows swap meets and a few hot rod runs around Charleston. Joined a club called Lowcountry Muscle Car and man those guys really have some nice rides. Makes mine seam tame. "BUT IT'S NOT" Haven't done a lot to it other than upgrading front disc and adding drop spindles. Made a huge difference in ride, drive and oh yeah That killer stance. What a change.Planning on doing cam intake upgrade later this winter so I'll be back with more pics after I get started. Also I picked up a 68 C10 Fleetside shortbed and have been playing with it this summer. I'll try to put up a couple pics of it and the Chevelle. Shoot me a message if you need info or you think I can help. See ya.

Default 6.0 C10 Project

Here are a few pic's of my latest project. It will eventually be the recipient of a 6.0 and a 4L80E. Right now it has a 250 straight 6 with a Turbo 350 and a Thrush muffler. Not a lot of power but it's still fun. I had a new experience bagging the truck. It's a whole new game. So for now I go back and forth from the Chevelle to the truck. No wonder I haven't been back in awhile. I'll try and do better on keeping ya'll updated. See ya, Roger

Thanks. It really is a lot of fun to put around in until More Power arrives to change it's attitude.
