+26 MPG @ 70-75mph
My Chevelle has a Stock 99 LS1 w/LS6 Intake, Edelbrock Headers, it got 26+mph on the Highway doing 70-75, taching around 2k with Viper T56, 4.11's and 275x40x17 tires..
Not sure what I get on the street. just never watched it, cause my foot is usually in it.. LOL

Sweet! all are welcome the more diversity the better. I was hoping to see mid 20's looks like I will get close. searched and search with no luck. Hopefully this thread will help others, and convince the skeptics. With numbers like that I am going to convert all three of my classic chevy's. once I finish tearing the nova down and get it back from the stripper I will start a post. Thanks to all those that lead the way.

A lot of it is matching gearing and engine torque. That's especially true for hiway milage. I probably under-geared both my cars. Newer vettes run a 3.42 rear with 0.50 OD.
Keep the rpm way low at hiway cruising speed and you can get really good milage with these motors. I doubt anyone is getting 30mpg, but 25mph hiway shouldn't be a problem.
Btw, I like driving mine too, so getting better milage than mt DD makes it great.

gas milage
hello ls1tech fam. How are you all getting such good milage? I have '87
c10, 5.3/4l60e, 3.73 posi traction, drive tuned, JBA shorty headers, dual exhaust, 26 inch tires. the drive tune was setup for 93 unleaded gas only. i guess the tuner tuned it for agressiveness. recorded milage 16-17mpg city/highway.

87 C10...its big and heavy and has the aerodynamics of a house. Thats one problem.
For what its worth, my 66 Chevelle has gotten 23.5 as a high and 17 as a low. (LS2 4L70, 3.55, 275/50/17)

hey, dont talk about my truck. im sensitive. lol. but im looking to get the best of both worlds. is that possible? can i get good/milage with a decent tune/power/torque? is dynotuning the answer? that costs. learn to tune my self like the merv? i even thought abought upgrading the 5.3/4l60e to ls6. the merv gets around 24 mpg like a few others on this site. my truck is fun to drive and i would like more power with out sacrificing mpg. any helps is appreciated.
