93 Z28 6.0 Swap
#62
Here are some updates, the second picture is my solution to the LS1 MAP on an LS3 manifold, it's a tweaked 2005 Cobalt SS MAP sensor bracket. The third picture is what I'm going to use to fabricate my throttle / t.v. cable bracket, I don't know what this was originally for, but it came on my 6.0 when I bought it.

Well, as an update, the motor is in the car. I still need to put the front suspension back together, swap the fuel pump, finish bolting up the trans, cut out the rest of the exhaust (cat back), reassemble the dash (which i broke the damn dash pad...), finish installing my brake lines, fill up the fluids, drink a beer, then fire it up. I'll take pictures tomorrow (i should've snapped a few of how I got the old motor out and got the new one in). Getting the old one out was an exercise of my patience (the last one I did was not this bad), and getting the new one in was pretty easy (went through the bottom, no lift, no wheels under the rear, and no dolly, just a 5000lb cargo strap, a hoist, few blocks of wood, floor jack, and jack stands. My car also has 1 1/2in drop springs).

Sandbox as in overseas? Come home safe and whole man. Thanks for posting for him Merv.
Reposting this question here and in other swap threads until I get a few replies:
I always here that you have to have a 98-02 F-body LS1 oil pan, but from looking at the specs it seems that one for a CTS-V would also work.
Has anyone tried that yet?

I just picked up a 93 z28 and am going to be doing the same thing. What did you do with the gauge cluster? And did you use the 93 wiring chassis wording harness? Thanks in advance.

Yeah, I'm not currently in the states, and a good connection is rare ( I'm using my iPod). I was looking at the V's pan, dunno how it would fit towards the front, but from what I can remember, the turndown part of the pan where it drops to the sump is pretty tight on the fbody pan as is. As far as wiring goes, I had merv do it and just bypassed the starter relay (just make sure you keep the vats box physically in place). I can't wait to get back to my ride...
