What are you guys doing for gauges
What are you guys doing for gauges I'm looking to swap a LSx motor and 4L series trans into my 79 Trans Am. What are you guys doing to get your gauges working? I'd rather not gut my instrument panel and put in aftermarket gauges, but not sure what the alternatives are.....

As for the senders, there are companies making adapters to convert the threads. Some have drilled and tapped the block off plugs to adapt the two.

I've got to plug the Dakota VHX gauges. Easy and one stop for whatever combo you are running. I'm not sure they have the trans am setup yet, but if you call them they'll tell you if they're going to be released soon. Frank @ Prodigy gave me the best price.

thanks for the info guys. Looks like I will be using the Cable X solution, as there doesn't seem to be any other simple solutions that are available to purchase, now.

There are tailstocks available that have a mechanical speedo.
On my corvette, I converted the tach from mechanical to electric by swapping out the guts of an aftermarket electric tach that had the same sweep.
On my other gaufes, I used the original senders on the LS block.

I plan on using my stock gauges for now with Zipsters adapter!
