Default 6L80E Slip Yoke Question

After doing some research it appears that a 4L80 slip yoke will fit into a 6L80E transmission. As per usual there are long and short versions of the 4L80 slip yoke so things are not as straight forward as they might be. Anyone with information of which 4L80 slip yoke fits the 6L80E transmission will be appreciated.

I will be building a custom drive shaft. This will be going into a 1965 Buick Skylark. Motor is an L92.

Turbo 400 slip works once machined to accept the OEM seal on the 6L80E shaft. I'm currently running the only 2010 Camaro Carbon slip.

I used GM part # 22944357 from a 3/4 ton 2WD silver ado.

The TH400 is the right diameter and spline count, but too short. BTDT. I will post a picture in a moment.

I have a 6L80 w/ L92 in my 1951 F1 pickup.

Not sure why, but the file attachment isn't working.

Here's a photo of the TH400 yoke vs. the 6L80 I installed.

This allows me to use the rear trans seal with boot. Yoke flange is about 3/4" beyond the boot installed.

DW SD - Was your 6L80 a slip yoke truck trans or a bolt in car yoke (G8, Camaro style) Did you have to bolt in the th400 yoke or are you using it as a slip yoke?

Hi,
This is a truck, 2WD slip yoke.
Here's a picture. The short one is the TH400 version.

Here's what I mean about the booted seal.
Strange said it should hang out of the seal by 1", which it is dead on that. I'd probably have shot for 3/4", still it did not come close to bottoming.

If you keep this type of seal, I'd definitely run the longer yoke.

I believe there is a big nut holding it in place.

know this is old but this what I'm wondering can someone just lay it out for the Camaro 6l80e to slip yoke has things changed.
I've read you can use a flange yoke to a converted driveshaft with two slip yokes on it and a pinion yoke on the rear.
I've read you can use a 400 yoke and (now I see sonnax makes a 6l80e slip yoke) remove the 3 bolt and shave the yoke down in the rear for it being bigger. Is this yoke a standard or slip?
I've read you can get a 2wd from the truck 6l80e which is slip and change the tail but this will involve removing all the Trans internals to put the tail internals in since it's the first part in the Trans? Is this the same thing you would need to do if you bought that 6l80e conversion kit I see floating.
Does anyone have pictures of the converted driveshaft or videos of any of these methods connected and in the car... Please just people that modded the 6l80e camaro transmission from start.
Any direction to a company that has these methods or parts or a answer for this would be greatly appreciated

Default Camaro 6l80

In 2012 I installed a camaro 6l80 in a 1991 camaro At that time there were no adapters available so I had a 400 bolt-in yolk machined to match the specs. of the camaro bolt-in yolk. This required the drive shaft to have a slip in it because the yolk did not. I had to remove[CUT OFF] the pilot that protrudes from the 6l80 output shaft to make this work. Now you could use the sonnex adapter to get the same result.

So I wanted to know will this yoke work below?
And how does doing this method make it a slip yoke style what's in the in the rear of the Trans when u remove the 3 bolt is there a spline? What seal is used out the tail so it doesn't leak with your conversion?

Iight like this route cause I think it's a stronger option still to this day adapters would still be the weak point to me. Just like spacers on a hub to run a wheel. Can I use this yoke or do u have e a part number for a.yoke tour talking about. People say slio then bolt on so I just want to get the setup right.

To use that yoke you would need to convert the trans.

Thanks for your info after all the searching and parting found the 2wd tail prices have dropped dramatically from some of the original listing about it being 700 picked up the parts for 200 bucks oem new and a slip yoke and while it's apart put stronger gears in it. Just didn't want to open it up with under 10,000 miles but oh well the things we do for conversion lol. Thanks all.

A year and a half since the last post, but did you start out with a Camaro style 6L80 (non-slip yoke) and convert it to a slip yoke style?

If so, what parts did you use?

Shown below is the two-piece driveshaft style from the Camaro that is currently in my Caddy.

A quick question about the 3 bolt output flange on a 6L80e: Does anyone know what the GM part number is or where I can find one for sale?
Is here maybe anyone that did the conversion willing to sell theirs?

If the ideal is 1" out of the longer seal/boot then I might be ok. I have a seal that is flush with closer to 1.4 inches exposed (on the longer truck yoke). I was shooting for .75 or so, but if a bit over an inch is fine I might not have to get a new driveshaft after all. Still plenty of joke over the output shaft, I just wasn't 100% on how much was acceptable.
