Any Ideal if the A body headers will fit a 74 Y body (Corvette) with a rack and pinion? I think it might since the large steering box is gone. Any knowledge on this? I used a set from Mel rose, and they hang to low, I'm not happy with those. I have seen some others use the F body Pace setters, but don't like how they kick up into the floor board of the Y body.

What is your return policy on headers that don't fit, returned with no damage or scratches? I am having a hard time finding the right setup, but believe the A body 1 7/8'' set would work for my setup.

I have no idea if they will fit or not. I'd have no problem returning them as long as they aren't scratched up. Thanks. Bob

Will do, we currently have a pair of the standard Dirty Dingo motor mounts that we purchased before deciding on these Kooks headers. These mounts aren't giving us the needed clearance for the headers, so we have a set of Kooks LS1-60017REV1-KIT motor mounts coming our way. We'll have them Monday, and we'll get plenty of pictures. Here are what they look like. Bob

These headers give plenty of ground clearance, they sit higher than the oil pan! Bob

Bob, do you have any photo's of the shape of the headers of how they route from the flange to the collector? From what you have posted so far, I bet that these would fit the LSX C3 swaps, I just want a better look at the routing of the primaries before I commit to buying these.

Also PM me your sale price.

The driver side I think would fit great, how ever the passenger side with the way the 3Rd primary is routed past and around the 8th primary, I don't think there is enough room for it to fit with out it smashed against the heater box and fire wall in the C3 Corvette. Most headers I have looked at, it's the driver side that is the problem, not the passenger side. I'll keep looking.

Thanks Bob for trying to help.

Is that an A or F -body? Short and wide or tall and narrow mounts? Dirty Dingo Kooks adaptors? Any steering shaft clearance pics? Which pan was used?

Ran Kooks on my C5 great build quality

You're welcome, thanks. Maybe you can end up using one driver side header and then a passenger side from another model. If you find something that looks like it might work, I am sure Kooks will split it up to try to help you out. Bob

It is an F Body, 1977 Trans-Am. We currently have a set of Dirty Dingo motor mounts on it, which will work just fine. We're going to try the Dirty Dingo Kooks motor mounts to see what/any difference they make, just so we know. Short and wide or tall and narrow mounts, Jon will get back to you on what mounts these are, and the oil pan he is using. We'll get the steering shaft pictures for you. Thanks. Bob

Short and wide, standard frame mounts for mid '70's camaro. The Dirty Dingo mounts are part number DD-3500C, and oil pan is the Mast conversion. A very nice pan and is also set up for dry sump in case I decide to go that way down the road. The engine is moved 1/2" forward from neutral, putting them dead center in the range of the mounts. I also had to move the trans mount 9/16" down for proper angle and header fitment by the collectors. The engine is sitting at 3.9 deg in relation to rocker panel. These Kooks headers are some of the nicest fitting headers I have seen. Hope this helps, Jon.

Of all the threads and links regarding the Unisteer Rack that I have just looked at, I haven't found a definitive answer to your question. No where did I see where anyone said the headers would not fit, but then again I didn't see where anyone said the headers did fit. I'd say to ask whoever you decide to buy headers through, if they will allow you to return them if they do not fit. I don't see any vendors having a problem with a return as long as they come back in the original box and the headers are in as good of shape as when they were shipped out. Thanks for asking. Bob
