Daytona Coupe LS1 conversion
For comparison the LS1 weighs exactly 50 lbs less than the aluminum headed 302 I took out. So it weighs 92 lbs less than a iron headed 302. I am not sure how much more the big block weighs.
BTW I really like the crazy hood and vent cutouts on the Grand Sport. The bends in the 4" tubes are cool too.

Ran my 3rd autocross in the LS1 powered Daytona.
Event 8 was a tough one. I had 1 dry run which was my best and then the rain came. 3 wet runs one semi dry and 1 more dry run. By run 6 it was down to the wire with the competition running well and me hitting cones on my fast runs. On run 6 bill put up a really good time which really put the pressure on me as he now had the winning time. I went out and ran as fast and wide as I could and just passed Bill by .07 seconds. Way too close for comfort!
Here is a video of run 5 semi-wet. It is amazing how much grip there is on slicks on a damp surface. On this run I hit the rev limiter so top speed was right at 70 mph.
Jameson aka "its turbo time" showed up and went for a ride. I think he had fun and now wants to give it a try. Jameson I apologize for not being more social and hope to hang out with the local crowd sometime in the future. Things are very hectic with us running a 2 driver car and I never got to give you a tour of the car. Unfortunately it was just strap in and go racing.

And a video of a launch. It sure hits the limiter quick in 1st! We could not launch too hard as there was gravel for the 1st 20 ft.
