few pic's of the end idea of my build.
89-91 gmc style grill front clip
then rear non step bumper on rear.
and last 2 is colors i picked out.
2011 toyota speedway blue and super white.
going for a 2 tone style like the cab i got for replacement. will be blue / white / blue like the cabs brown / tan / brown.
thinking even do the roof white to help cut down on heat soak .

thinking since the general idea is the 2wd trucks do good with 3.42 gears in stock form in the 99-up i would do around the same for my build.
found the rear end shot and had 2.73 gears in it now so lookin around i found a guy selling a ford 9" with what he thinks is 3.50 ratio but not sure. its from a truck so it should be just the one i want for beefy parts.
if not the gear ratio i need then much better/ and easy to redo over shim style gm axles.
then will drill/change the wheel pattern over to go go the wheels will bolt up like stock. and will need to change the spring perches and move them and shock tabs anyway so i think this would be the best all the way around.
also scored a hydro boost setup with everything needed to put in this truck and ditch the vac brakes . so i need to get a p/s pump housing for the hydro boost and swap it inplace of my non hydroboost one.

things are coming along nicely! i had a 79 bonanza 10, that my dad bought new and i restored. it was originally medium blue metallic and white, two-tone. when it was repainted, i chose bahama blue metallic and a peterbuilt white....did the top of the cab in white, it looked really sharp. you should have one fancy little pickup when you're done!
p.s. mine had a 350/350/NP203 drivetrain with 3.42s and would do over 100mph in 2nd gear......

then loaded up the front end on the frame tonight and went to install lower ball joints only to find parts store gave me 1188 part# and i was to get 1118 part # that 1 didget off will do it every time.
got the new 5" long www.diy4x.com ( 4x4 truck parts ) udsr HEAVY DUTY shackles installed. there 1" longer than stock for 1/2" drop. this with my front hangers for rear springs moved up 2" gets me 2.5" drop in rear. had to get these as the universal drop shackles were to long and hitting the box floor and crossmember for floor.
also got the motor mount plates and mounts bolted back in the frame.

not dead just sleeping for a bit is all. been busy at work and lost a bit of drive to finish it.
but got the rest of the box sides sanded down on the tops . all marked out for dents to pull or fill.
then sent the core support to the media blaster and got it back with few bad spots to repair. bottom of the 2 center braces were the body bolts drop in . i am going to cut up a std 2 headlight unit to fix the 89-91 unit . its a gm and that why i am fixing it over aftermaket thin / light weight / dont line up 1/2 the time.
also got the bumper brackets all blasted and ready for paint. also going to modify the burban style rear bumper plate area to have a hiddin 2" hitch behind the plate . found a gm car's fuel door plate spring loaded flipper to add to the bumper to cover the hitch when not in use.
also got most the fuel lines made up and ready to mount to the frame .
