Default Very sick L92:(. Help please!!!

Over the weekend, I took my car to the track for some test runs.(first time since swap). Not sure on how well I did or not because the time lights were out of order. But the car felt good, and ran strong. I only did 1 pass and left shortly after. On the way home, the engine started tapping. I had 0 oil pressure. Immediately killed the engine and popped the hood to inspect. No visual signs of a problem. I let the engine cool down a while and I started it up. Noticed a difference in the way the engine was turning over but it started. About 25 psi oil pressure. I immediately thought oil pump failure, but figured since I had a little pressure, I could take it easy going home and be ok. After about 5 min and only a few hundred ft from my driveway, the engine died. I tried to start it, but all I got was a very slow delayed spin over.

I thinking that it's very close to completely locking up, but is there any hope?

Honestly, No. If you believe its locking up, you are going to have to crack it open and see whats toast. Hope that you only have to replace bearings and oil pump. There are a lot of parts that dont like being without oil . Sucks *** man... hate that happened too ya. Probably looking at something like this... Hopefully not .

Yeah that's what I need to know, what are all the possible problem areas?
And would all the problems be as visible as the above picture?

Any of your bearing surfaces are subject to being toast. Mains ,rods, cam , Wrist pins, Rings, pistons. More than likely its mostly on the bottom end . The pic is a typical example of no oil failure. Could look like that but could look different. Lots of bluing and streaking more than likely. You will see it . Did you check all your accessories ,battery , alternator ,ps pump ? I have seen it before where a/c compressor seized and bogged the engine to a halt . And a battery on the way out could give you starting problems. But ZERO oil pressure is scary.

IMO, your just going to have to take it apart and see what goes... top to bottom... you most likely should have had it towed home on the 1st sign of trouble, would have maybe saved some parts. But too late to say anything else now..

good luck and hope you can save the engine with minor work or parts.

Thanx guys. Not really what I wanted to hear, but I figured as much. Too close to the Holliday to start tearing it down, but I'll post all of my findings in case anyone else wants to know.
Thanks again!

Draining the oil and cutting open the oil filter to look for metal shavings is the first step. Strain the oil through a strong magnet.

Okay thanx, I read that on another post.
I guess the more shavings = more problems.

So this cam is a product of a similar event? Can it still be used?

Don't have ac compressor installed yet, and battery is less than a yr old. Water pump is fine also.
