Pretty big step today. I finished welding up both sides leading to the turbo. The only thing left to do is add wastegates which should go pretty quick. I also had a large box of all my fuel lines and fittings arrive from Joel at Orme Brothers. Everything looks great and I hope to start running the fuel lines soon if I can get a break from weather and work. I went with all -10 AN pushlock fittings for both feed and return.

I should have plenty of room when I decide to add AC to the car, but for now it is not necessary to get it up and running.

Ah I figure I can unhook them at the track, but I would prefer it had some decent street manners. I have a buddy who is big into road racing helping me with suspension stuff and he said to try and leave it if I can. I figure I can always take it off later.

New brake lines and SN95 calipers installed. MM bumpsteer kit installed, and wheels and tires are on. Little at a time!

Exhaust exit...I will have to cut the bottom of the fender a tad, but it is pretty low:

It is a 6" hood. It actually came on the car (even though the guy had a 4 banger, lmao) and I am just using it for now. I am not certain which kmember, but I know that there was one guy with a 2.5 or 4" cowl that was clearing the hi-ram. I will probably cut back the cowl a bit in order to be able to use windshield wipers. It is tall....but it is what I have to work with for now. Trying to get this thing up and running before I worry too much about aesthetics.

Engine is coming together. Got the upgraded comp trunion rockers on tonight and got the valve covers on for almost the last time...still have to tap one for an oil return, but that is about it!

Just stock length. The guys I bought them from stated that was what I needed since heads and block were all stock. I did buy a length checker though just to double check.

Also got the vette accessories on tonight. Looks like everything will work great. I have a -6 line hooked to the PS pump that will connect to the stock rack once I get the fitting for the rack.

Hi Sarg,
Looking sweet. What flexible exaust connectors did you use? Were the ends you welded to on the flex coupler 304? It looks like the rest of the cross over is 304. Also thanks for welding the 304 to the manifold and checking with the 5lb hammer in a thread I started. I had to move my turbo from an engine mount to a frame mount that why I'm asking all these questions. Do you run solid motor mounts? Thanks for all the help!

Mike

I will have to search back through for the flex...I want to say it was race parts solutions, but I honestly can't remember. Best I could tell the whole flex piece was 304, but I honestly can not tell. It just looked like steel, lol. I am not experienced enough of a welder to really be able to tell the difference between how stainless and mild welds. Mounts are the AJE poly bushings with solid mount to the block. I am thinking about trying to get some aluminum ones made though.

AJE makes solid aluminum bushings for their k members bro. Give them a call. I bought some from them last summer. Think they were $30 shipped.

Little more progress today. I got the radiator figured out as far as location and hoses. Just need to buy some rubber strips to mount under it and build a bracket for the top. Also got my fuel cell mounted and my power steering pressure line done.
