Default 67 mustang ls swap

Here is some pics of my Ls swap in my 67 mustang. Have had several people asking me to post a build thread so here it is. I am running cts-v brackets with a/c, Gto radiator and condensor, dirty dingo motor mounts, I built my own headers, and running a tanks inc fuel tank. I have posted some pics under jseely, helping people with their swaps, but have gave that account to my dad, and started a new one. I also cut the old firewall out to make it smooth, I did not do it b/c of the swap, and i also cut the front of the engine compartment where the radiator is to make the radiator look more at home. Custom built torque boxes and made frame connectors for more strength.

S10 it really isn't hard to work on. I swapped heads to trick flow and a fast 102 intake after I had 30 miles on it. I built the headers out of ls flanges, exhaust pipe and ball type collectors. I have to pull one header to get the trans out but other than that it is easier than working on f body race cars, without ac. Made the headers where you can get a spark plug socket on them, so it doesn't take but one socket to change them. Mike-I am working a 67 gto swap for dad now, I also started a right up on it to. Ready to see some more of your pics.

Superboost- I did keep the rear axle a ford. lol It is out of a 97 explorer. I had to swap sides with the axle tubes so the drive shaft would run straight. It was like 3 in offset and i could feel it pulling the car sideways at a hard take off. Here is a pic of the rear end before i swapped sides with the axle tubes. I plan on taking it to the mustang car show next year. I'm sure i will make lots of friends.

This is what it looks like or did it is getting the body work done now. Probably going with a shelby style hood. When it get out of the body shop i am putting a martz four link in it and different rims and tires. The covers are just metal diamond plate, used a metal break to bend the sides.

Looks like the mounts are only welded one side to the shock tower, correct?

Thanks.

As the owner of an all-ford '67 Mustang, I have to say my only gripe is that you didn't give the LS a ford theme (like painting the block old ford blue or something). I'd love to do something similar, but just can't bring myself to hack up an all-original, even if it's just a C-code. The 5.0 and AOD were, of course, simple bolt-ins.

How did you find the difference between the "V" SBF vs. the "V" Ls? Did you have more shock tower to exhaust port area, the same or less.

I ask because I'm looking at a 5.3LS turbo build for my '64 fairlane sedan.

Thanks.

I'm not sure the part number but I posted pics of them. They are fully adjustable. You can see where I welded the base of the mount to where the old ford mount set. Not sure on the distance vs sbf. I just decided I was going to do it and done it, had to build my own headers but it worked great. As far as I know I'm the only first gen mustang ls swap running the stock strut towers and steering. I got my dynacorn shelby style hood for it in last week. The hood fit sucks, it will take alot of work to make it fit.
