I'll be watching this one. I have an 84 Monte Carlo that will be going from 229 to LS eventually.

I'm also curious to see the numbers you get. I have a 5.3 in my Z, but I did not shave the heads.

 

While the heads are off, I would put the best valve springs you can afford in there. Also, ditch the stock rod bolts for some ARPs. If you look at the factory pieces and the sleeved taper they have, that is a weak link. Fine for a truck that sees 5000 rpm once in a blue moon, but not hardly good enough for an engine that sees 6500 rpm repeatedly which you will do with a cam.

I vote for the regal, but i would drive them both.

 

I drive both of them..malibu has s 350. Regal 3.8....

 

I say do the regal first.... Then convert the bu....

Too bad. I Would have liked to see one of them g bodies receive an ls. To many fox bodies

 

in my town it's no ls fox bodys..but i know a guy that has lq9 bu that runs 7.20's and drives it everywhere...& a guy with a ss mc...it's bu's on here w/ls engines...

 

I see. In that case i would do the Fox if theirs already g bodies with ls's in your area. I meant it as you see tons of ls fox's on the internet and not as many g bodies with ls engines
