Default Fox body Header problem...Help

Hey guys. I'm using the AJE K member but used the stock mustang trans cross member. The problem I'm having is on the driver side the collector is obstructed from hooking up an X pipe by where the cross member connects to the body. Has anyone else had this problem. Using Dynatech headers.

The exhaust shop told me the only two options they could think of is to build a different trans cross member and cut the mount off the body or cut the collectors on the headers back some.

What do you guys think? Here's a pic, not the best in the world though.

The exhaust shop cut about an inch off each of my collectors and put a slight bend on the driver side.

Thanks, I may be able to cut them off, but bending not so sure, My shifter linkage is only about a 1/4" from the collector as it is.

Mine fit the same way. You could trim the x member a little and that should help

Just cut the collector back. This is very common

Ok guys, now I got the plugs and wires on and the #3 plug wire is hitting the primary tube. I'm using the MSD 32829 Multi Angle plug wires.

What do you think my options are? I've seen some heat socks at Advanced Auto Parts but not sure that will be ok. Or should I try a different kind of wire on that cylinder. Thanks

I did a coil relocation to avoid this.

Just a idea.

Ok, got the car running. Now need to figure this exhaust out. Wanna have the rest of my stuff here before I go to muffler shop to see what they can do about this collector.

My plan is 3" X pipe into bullets with turn downs. What do you guys think? Was gonna get the universal kit from summit unless someone has a better idea lol

So you think the summit one has a poor merge?

It is not the best. The more the air has to turn the less power it will make it

I was surprised with my car

Here's a better pic of what I'm running into on the driver header. Since I've heard this is a "common" problem. Does this look about normal? I used a T5 mount cause a TH350 mount made the engine tilt back 6 degrees.

What do you think?

Just trim the collector and put a 45 on it. To get the exh up high in the car it needs to be up in the trans tunnel anyway

I will post a pic of mine tonight

Thanks Tim. I'd appreciate the pic. Ready to get this thing knocked out and to the track. Been on it since November.
