btw, i used a harness from an 04' silverado on a 2000 ecm. i cut two tabs off of the green ecm connector to fit into the 2000 ecm where the red ecm connector would go. i used the 99-02 pinouts and it all worked great. and i removed all the pins that i didnt need to clean up my harness.

no. the gen IV harness (2005-2007) is the exact same as the gen III harness's from 03' and 04'. in 99-02 i think the alternator wires were a little different but I'm not totally sure you would have to differ between pinouts. in 2008-present the pinouts might have changed but I'm not totally sure because lt1swap.com doesnt have the pinouts for those engines yet. if you have a gen IV harness and want drive by cable, get a 99-02 ecm. that way the ecm's are compatable with dbc. in 03'+ some ecm's are drive by wire ONLY. that means that you cant use a dbc throttle body. heres the truck pinouts for future reference

i dont run the oil pressure sender because the computer doesnt need to see it and i dont run an alt guage. i just run a voltmeter and mechanical oil pressure guage (you could do electrical if you wanted). the only thing the ecm needs to see is ect (coolant temp) along with the other stuff i posted for 94heritage. since you dont need to re pin your harness because your using a matching ecm i would just cut out all the connectors you dont need (tranny, evap, egr, etc.) and then go ahead and connect the rest of your pigtails to your engine

If you are going with a 58x Gen IV (mid 2007 and up) then the wiring and controller are completely different from the Gen III stuff. If you are going to go Drive by Wire on the 24x Gen III stuff, make sure you get the TAC module and Pedal as that will keep the cost lower. If you are using a 58x, then you only need the pedal, there is no tac module. If you are planning on drive by cable, forgo the Gen IV and stick with a Gen III as the Gen IV controllers will not operate drive by cable. Hope that helps.

If I go Gen IV it will be 08 and I will get the harness ,ecm, dbw TAC and pedal all from the donor truck. I'm not sure if the pedal from the the truck will work in my Amigo tho. I talked with a guy in my area that tried to use a truck pedal in his 69 Chevelle and he said it would not work ,he went with one out of a vette about the year as his Tac and TB.

NOTE: edited based upon further research.
One issue with the pedals is gm changed the wire order and if you don't have the correct order, it will set codes and not allow the engine to accelerate, no matter how you wire it. You can NOT use any pedal with ls1 style, e40 and e38 pcm's. The tacc must match the PCM, operating system, and file settings. The pedal simply consists of two TPS in one package.
E38, E40 and LS1 style pedals have different resistances that produce different voltages at closed and full throttle. So even if you wire them up for the correct high, wiper and ground, it still wont function and will set codes.

I have a 2004 5.3 in my Camaro I am still setting up, I found the stock silverado DBW pedal to be bulky and even after trimming it up and putting a stock Camaro pedal on it. I couldn't get the angle right. The body of the pedal was making it hard to place the pedal in a good spot.
And 2004 was a weird year and there aren't any alternatives to swapping out the pedal with one from a car or aftermarket....if you get one from a 2006 or later (I think, whatever year eliminated the tac module) you have better choices in pedals.
I ended up getting a DBC PCM from a 2004 GTO/Express Van and having it reprogrammed for my application, added the necessary wiring and throttle body.
And now I can use my stock 2nd gen pedal with a cable driven harness and it will look stock.
