Default wiring harness question

im doing a ls1 swap on a 93 rx7.. the ls1 with harness and ecu came out of a automatic transmission and im going to use a t56. do i have to get a different harness being im not going back with a automatic?

you will need the ecu to be set for a t56. far as harness im not sure

I would get the correct harness. Your back up light plug is different and you won't have the reverse lock out.

+1..... Especially for the reverse lockout. Ive heard alot of stories about speed shifting and ending up in reverse thereby scattering a very expensive trans all over the road. Just my 2 cents...

Are the lockout wires on the main harness with the ecu?

It is possible to convert your harness to a manual harness, there is some information in the Manual Transmission stickies. It can be done though.

You can repin one of your transmission wires to the correct location at the PCM for the reverse lockout. Then use the power wire for the automatic transmission to power the reverse lockout. Change the tune and you should be good. Hope that helps.

I just removed the wires for the auto trans and had the computer tuned for the t56 it's easy
Listen to psi they know a thing or 2 about wiring

This is exactly what I did when I re-pinned/swapped the trans on my 98 car. Sounded tough at the time, but took maybe half an hour, and most of that time was getting the car on the lift and splicing in a pigtail.

I want to do basically the same thing ,only I will be using a 07 nbss truck harness and ecm which had a automatic behind it . I will be running a manual trans. Is it any more difficult with using a new body style truck harness?

You can add the wires and use the computer lock out reverse at low speeds, or you could just wire the lockout to only allow reverse when brakes are on using brake switch.
