Ive had good luck with the Rust-Oleum engine enamel. and i use brake cleaner on a clean microfiber to prep it. it has to be super clean before you clear it.

the h3 hummer pan fits perfect,, hell with the h3 pan you dont even have to notch the frame

but it still hangs below the frame... which is why i notched the frame and got an fbody pan... my truck is getting lowered more once i get it running so anything hanging below is bad news...

What was the extent of the full manual valvebody? I'm interested in doing this to my 4L80 but never truly figured out a good setup. I've heard of the Rossler Black Box doing well with the application.. You going ratchet shifter set up as well?

it was alot more invloved than the pics make it out to be... ive never been inside a transmission by myself before so it was a little overwhelming at first... ive seen the parts before on my transmission builders work bench but decided i need to learn how to do it and what better way than on a free transmission that if i **** up ill just get another. i just took my time made sure everything was spotless and paid very close attention to the directions in the transgo kit. there was a lot of drilling and replacing springs and valves and at times it was a bit frustrating but i got it done in two nights after work from about 5-9 each night

trans should be installed in the next month so ill report back on how it feels

EDIT**

Ill be re using the column shifter and adapting the stock 2.2 shift cable and bracket to work with the 4L80. im keping this as sleeper as possible, but itll be a little hard with a procharger screaming under the hood

went in easy as pie, only thing that really game me trouble was a rusted brake line fitting, rusted gm u-bolts that had to be cut off and the u-bolts from the explorer axle needed to be bent in a little bit. anyone doing this conversion make sure you get a 1/4 to 3/16 inverted flare adapter fitting and youll be set!

Thanks man, I'm running a 285/30 on my billet 20s. The 295 looks a lot better in a 10" rim.

Its p/n 29086 comes with the fuel rails brackets and throttle cable bracket but be forewarned the ends of the rails are pipe thread and if youre planning on running truck accessories it will hit the back of the alternator if you try using a pipe thread to -AN fitting... I had to cut the pipe thread off and have the fitting welded to the rail because it wouldnt go in deep enough.

So is the trans non electronic?
I know anothrr member here used an older 90s? Non electronic 4l80.
Im lookin for one for my 3rd gen. But i need an older manual one with no electronic controls.
I just can find a definite answer on which vehicles and years they were available
