Most Corvette header kits (for the C5 anyway) use 1 3/4" or 1 7/8" primaries with a 3" collector, cats, and x-pipe, then it necks down to 2.5" at the tail of the X-pipe the rest of the way to mate with the factory catback systems.

The C6Z06 uses 3" exhaust all the way back though.

My thoughts were that since I am getting upgraded rockers and cam, I don't mind making 580 at the tire as opposed to 600 if it saves me a lot of time, headaches and money. But if the 7.0 427 really needs twin 3's to breathe properly then I would just assume do it right even if I have to lose the spare and cough up a little more coin. I do hate to have those gorgeous headers hacked up though

Jesus Freak suggested this to help make the narrow passage b/t the two fuel tank sections. That is the area that others who have tackled this have the most trouble fitting 3's through.

I actually have one, running out of fuel with only 530rwhp.

A little more work done. This morning, Clay and I went to go pick up a black interior at Tyson's Corner and got back early enough to knock out the door panels, dash and front seat belts.

I don't know of anyone who has broken the M5 driveshaft on either a S/C'd M5 or LS powered E39.

dont know if there is anything better about the m5 one, but it happens. carrier bearings suck too. putting all this money in, might as well get a sturdy shaft and a driveshaft loop of some sort in there.

If it breaks, I will get another one made

Thought I was screwed on my trans as the shifter is 5 1/8" too far foward but then found this. Seems this will work if it's lengthened and/or has a swan neck paired with it.

Also was able to paint my rear bumper since the weather warmed up a bit. This weekend, Clay and I will be sectioning out the spare well to fit dual exhaust and we will attempt to get started on the DBW pedal mount.

Clay (357i) came by to cut out and raise the trunk floor to fit dual exhaust

New rockers, cam and springs are on the way for the 427. 600RWHP will be the goal.

Brewster, could you please size down or delete that massive driveshaft pic? It's messing up the page on my ipad.

Most people would be happy with an LSX 427 but I am shooting for 600 at the tires so... New cam, rockers and valve springs. Going for a ridiculous idle. Picked up the flywheel from my friends shop too. Dropped off my trans while I was there. D&D is either going to supply a new tail section for the Magnum or create an extended shifter since the existing shifter location is 6" too far forward.

That's a biggun... lots of lift. Change those springs every year.

check out the MagnaFlow 12469 muffler. It's a dual inlet/outlet 3" with an "X" built inside it. Very cool looking muffler and pretty compact

I'm still in. Congrats on your fine taste. This would look great next to my twin blown 2002 M5.

Trade for the Gallardo or the SL

Scored some more goodies. I got the rest of the black interior. Back seat, rear seat belts, rear cargo area floor, side panels and trim, rear hatch panel and trim and lastly, a rare set of interior door and console trim finish called technical graphite.

People on the BMW forums are almost as bad as volkswagen people. They find nothing outside of the norm "cool" and talk trash about it. I'm not a huge fan of those racks but maybe if it was color matched to the car it might look pretty good.

BTW.. This is my 2nd favorite car right behind the E63 wagon. Your particular car is one of the best I've ever seen and it's not even complete. Only thing I dislike about these cars is the dated climate controls and all of the ones I've seen have had some sort of issue but either way, my hat goes off to you sir

Thanks!!

Thanks!

Clay came over to finish up the spare well. Looks amazing and now the battery is far more secure than OEM.

Started working on routing the harness. I think I will put the relay/fuse box here which just so happens to be parallel to the reservoir Josh made me. Will look nice when I shoot that black too. ECU fits nicely in the OEM box.

New cam, rockers, dual valve springs etc are installed. Waiting on my trans to come back from D&D with a new tail section. While I wait, I had my headliner and pillars etc done in black suede and started installing the black interior I sourced from a partout. I also installed dynamat in the spare well and on the inner roof.
