Thanks, I have a a little under 10k in the whole thing. Now that its all together Replacement motors and overhead should be pretty low. Not sure how hard to push it yet. I'm thinking 24lbs will be my stopping point. If it lasts for a year at those levels I'll be pretty happy with it.

Went 9.44@ 148.

Planned to turn it up but my WG spring was right at 20lbs. I'll have to turn it up next time out. Still went a new personal best. With horrible 60' times to boot.

More NASCAR parts!

4" "boom tubes" Hope it will free up some power and give me additional ground clearance to boot.

Photobucket recently decided to be massive D-bags and start limiting bandwidth per month. Anyway it resets a month from your subscription date.(Which is like 3 days from now for me.) For people with thousands of pics out there on forums photobucket really screwed us! I refuse to pay the ******* and will host my pics elsewhere from now on.

Yes you will... pics usually go inactive about 3 weeks into the month at this point. I'll try to delete some older posts, but it's a massive pain in the ***..

Force Fed.

Love the RX7. I built a 79 myself a few years back but with a normal old 355 SBC and a single Holset. Mine ran deep in the 9's as well. Great build. Can't wait until the pics are back up.

New rims and tires... MT Dr's 295/55/15's. Only a 3.5lb weight difference.

Centerline makes a new (cheaper) "dicer" series wheel for $200 similar to the autodrag series on my car.

The new wheel had to much chrome and the back spacing was a little to deep for the drag radials. I threw the new drag radials on the old rims and put the slicks on the new rims.

Looks good. The wife said the car looks slower now. I'll take that as a compliment...

Default New Best!

Bought a cheapo 14" harbor junk chop saw. I love this thing! Makes a mess but I did all the cutting outside the shop. Made a new 4" dump pipe with it. It turned out great. The new dump gave me no MPH gains at 20lbs of boost over my old oddball setup (below) with the Wastegate "dump" removed. Sounds cool thou..

Drove it out to the track tonight with the new tires and exhaust. Went a new best 9.35 @ 147. Drag radials work great. 1.44 60'. Much more stable up top and driving around town. Was guessing at boost level, drove to the track at 13lbs gave it a half turn and boost was dead set at 20lbs. Right where it was before the new boost controller.

Only got 2 runs, my window jumped out of the track. Of course I thought it would look cool to pop rivet the door skin covers on. Couldn't' get the window rolled up to make another pass. Still cruises 70 (phone GPS) at around 2500rpm. Through the traps around 5600. 10:5 to 10:1 AFR 17* timing.

New best for the last race of the season. 9.04 @151!

Only got 3 T/O runs in. Spun the first time, blew the IC pipes the second. Last run was sooo close to 8's. I'm sure 25lbs would have got me there.

This was 23.8 lbs 15* of timing. 24lb launch.

Yea 24lbs, kinda nutty right? Can't get out of it's own way with 1.76 glide 1st and 3.10 gears with 28" tires. Picked up 4mph in the 1/8th!

Peaked at 24.51 on the 2step with the t-brake. I use the T-brake button to activate the 2 step and drop timing down to -17*. (Another issues with the AEM plug'n'play. No matter what timing level I set in the two step it always drops it to -17*. )

Anyway, as soon as I released the t-brake it ramps the timing back up. Looks like boost dropped to 19ish right after I released the brake then peaks at 22lbs. Shifted to 2nd and it jumps right to 23 and peaked at 23.8 at 5900.

Thanks! I should have went home after that pass!

Made 3 passes. New best... 8.93 @ 153. Boost peaked at 25.8lbs. 22-23lbs through most of the run.... 15* of timing.

Went to make a final pass and the car died on the line. Did the burn out fine, hit the T-brake and made about 15lbs, and it shut off. Something locked up, not sure if its motor or trans/converter yet. Had to tow it home.

Feels weird hoping it was the cheapo motor that let go and not something like the trans or rear end!

Oh well, had a great year this was the most fun I've had drag racing in a long time!

I wondered what happened. I was leaving the track as the AAA guy was loading your car.
