I am on the hunt for nice rollers. But with my limited shop time these days I'm looking for complete rollers. Drop a engine and trans in and go type of thing. Building "Street car" and caging it with all the safety equipment and a strong drive-train/brakes/plumbing etc...Just takes too much time. Also pretty much stuck to a KS car with a title at this point.Out of state race car title's can be really tricky! If anyone sees a light weight KS tagged roller with an 8.50 cage pls let me know! I'm working on getting the RX-7 parted out now, but if the right deal comes along I'll pounce. Or if theres any nice old "race" Rx-7s I happen to have a KS title for one of those... but you didn't' hear me say that.

it's not a roller but very clean and my offer is 1/5 of the price this guy is asking. Seller price is negotiable, ya know.

Danm this is terrible to hear! Glad you're ok! Been following this car for a long time and have learned a lot from you.
Hope you get a clean roller of something cool and do great things with it.

Pick up the new project tomorrow. (minus motor and trans). Was told it weighed in at 2400 with driver. (not sure I believe it) That's an iron headed 500ci caddy engine with a C6. Has a nice 12pt cage, 4 link, Gbody frame braced with a 105.5 wheel base, wilwood brakes, and mustang 2 front end. Plan is to run my old glide and a mild alum 5.3 with twin 78/75's and no IC. See if I can get a mid 5 sec 1/8th out of it.

I can't either! And it should be lighter with a glide and alum 5.3. If I can keep the giant yellow roller-skate on the ground and going straight, it will be interesting to find out! The 500 caddy engine in it basically has a mild cam, intake, and header setup with a 3.50 gear and 30" tire. Its been running mid to low 10's at 124 for years like that bracket racing. He shifts it at like 5k! lol.

I'm more than a little worried about stability at higher speeds as well! He said he had a little hotter motor in it initially and it went 132 in the 1/4 and claims it went straight as an arrow. He also told me he hit something slick this year and almost flipped it.
I'll defiantly ditch the bias ply tires and put radials all around, maybe lower it a tad if possible. The chassis is actually really sound. Built by a pretty reputable shop here in KS. The yellow box on top is rough at best. But that's what will allow me to tag and street drive it... so it is what it is. Hoping the longer wheel base will help, 5" longer than the fox chassis stuff I was looking into anyway. Once tagged I might stretch it out a bit more. Maybe install some sort of giant spoiler. I'm sure it will be a handful! Betting I'll have to ramp power in pretty slowly.
Figured what the hell! I needed a winter project anyway and hadn't found a decent roller. I don't have much tied up in it... so far anyway.
