Removed both ladder bars. Lubed and checked them out. Appear to be in good working order. Reinstalled. Set pinion angle with driverside ladder. Then added preload until the pass side was about a half inch lower than the driverside. Moved my 60lbs of lead ballast from the passenger side to the driver side bumper.
Tried to get some slow motion driveway hits. Still appear to be hitting the pass side first and hardest. Track visit will tell for sure, not sure how else to test. Already got chewed out by the old lady for marking up the driveway.
Same vid from the back... (starts at 24 sec mark)

Made another attempt at the track last weekend. Only got 3 Time Only runs in due to there being tons of bracket classes that day. Only 1 full ¼ pass and 2 1/8th passes.
Wanted to take it easy and test things out after making all the changes. First run I left on 4lbs, 3800 on the 2-step. Car left nice and straight and stayed that way, zero drama. 1.4x 60’ and 8.9X @ 159. New limit straps helped keep the wheel camber in check and the front end down. Car is no longer a hand full until the nose settles, stayed nice and stable/straight with zero input form me at the wheel.
Here’s the same launch from the back.
Same video cut down in slow motion.
Slip
Turned it up to a 9lbs and 4000 on the 2-step on the next 2 1/8th passes. Managed a 1.39 and 1.38. Nice and drama free. Feels weak now, almost like the car has no more movement in it. Still waiting on a couple still frames head on pics from the track photographer at the initial hit. But looking at the videos It seems like I need to hit the tire harder. Doesn’t even look like the same car or the same power levels being put into the launch. Just stays nice and flat. Not complaining about the straight and flat part, but the 60’ is weak. Going to loosen up the extension a click at a time and see if I can hit the tire harder on the launch I guess…? Suggestions?
These videos aren’t the best. My camera girl is on the short side, and couldn’t get a great angle.

With a 1.28 it would have done 8.51 on that slip above. Also ramping in boost conservatively. Was hitting 126-127 in the 1/8th earlier in the year. It was pretty hairy and spun 200ft out if the conditions weren’t perfect. Bringing in the boost/timing slowly made the car super drivable. Still at 17-18ish lbs of boost as well

Was trying to iron out the 60’. It has the same power going to the rear now as it did when it was doing the one wheel wonder wheelies. I don’t pull any timing or boost for the first second or so. Ramping it more aggressively on boost/timing might make for a quicker ET, but I don’t think it will do much for the 60’. With no ramp I had serious traction issues and rarely got a clean run. Now at least I can get a clean pass most of the time.
Really want to figure this 60’ out. I was hitting 1.35-1.32’s or so with the goofy ladder setting and half wheelies. I’d really like that back now that the car is staying straight! I’m assuming I was just hitting the driver side tire twice as hard. Now that I evened out the ladders it’s dividing that hit between 2 tires and not doing as much.

So left on 9, did not retard a bunch of timing, and the 2 step at 4000?
What happens if you throw another lb of boost at it, no changes? I know of a mid 8 second combo that leaves on boost in the teens, probably many examples of that. I know of a number of cars that leave on 10 lbs and run 5.7's and better.

I'll give it a shot at the next event. We are closed this weekend. Think I'm gonna try lowering the rear strut mounts an inch or so and winding up the preload on the aft springs perches to store up a little more energy on the hit. Then loosen the rear shock extension rate a few clicks as well.
Pretty sure if I turn the power up much more it's just gonna grenade this stock case/gear set glide.

Yeah if the car is consistently in the high 1.3's but leaves perfectly, I'd leave on more power and not mess with the suspension to be honest.
With the class car stuff we've tended to focus on getting to the car to work great from A to B, then try to leave on more boost. At some point the 60 is just power limited.

At the track for 8 hours and only got 2 passes. Spun the first, new best ET of 8.77 the second pass. Boost was down to 16-17lbs usually 18-19 so MPH was also down from the usual 159.
