Default Best Way to tackle a fox swap

I'm gearing up to do a foxbody swap. I have a 5.3 from an 2002 Escalade just the motor & wiring harness. I'd like for this swap to go smooth & as fast as possible. What would be the fastest way to tackle this thing? I've looked up about every build there is on the site & not too many have kept the t56. For those who have would it be possible to cut & weld the shifter into a "L" shape at its lowest point to move the handle forward to allow me to retain the factory handle location? It would work in "theory"

Who would you all recommend to re work the wiring harness?

If I were to use the BRP conversion kit would that require me to get a new drive shaft?

The "L" cut worked good on the AC Cobras! Id say go for it if doesn't get in the way of anything.
