98-02 F-body. www.paceperformance.com has it separately or as a complete kit. try a SEARCH. " 1" set-back " swap plates with SBC stands. FWIW.

I kept going back and forth also for the pan on my 68....

Sheetmetal pan with remote filter $$$
Stock pan low hanging or needs mods $$$

Went with a Holley pan for about the same to a little more...sits about flush with crossmember.

Check with MikeF at SKSpeed (sponsor here) for a Holley pan price....did good by me

I used a cadillac CTS-V pan with carshop 1" setback plates It fit no problem. It hangs about 1/2 to 3/4" below the crossmember but about even with the headers. Here's a few pictures

Holley pan fits really well in a A body. Put 8000 miles on one this year with no issues.

On my 73 I used the 98-02 fbody pan and it worked well. Doesn't hang below the crossmember.I didn't use the 1" set back plates just redrilled the holes in the cross member back one inch.

Mine dropped right in with a Corvette batwing pan. I had to put in a second drain (yellow arrow) because the original one (red) was about 1/2 an inch away from the frame, and would make a mess if I used it to drain the engine.

F-body pan fits perfectly fine in sec gen Camaro. 1 inch set backs was essential for my 78. The LS is not as long as the SBC

Do not use a CTS-V pan on a sec gen f-body. If your car bottoms out on the road, a speed bump etc...That pan is the first to get hit! That will ruin your day and the engine.

A Used fbody pan and a new ctsv pan setups are about the same price, $200.
Fbody pan you probably can't move the engine forward but it won't hang.
Ctsv you can move the engine forward if you need to but it will hang a bit.
These are about the same issue as a 1st gen camaro.

With trial fitments of the LS in my '78...There is no way you would ever want to move the engine forward.

Food for thought: If you plan on lowering the car at all, a pan that hangs below the frame is just asking for trouble. Look at the picture in my sig. That car is lowered about 1.5 inches. On the one or two occasions I've hit something hard enough to scrape the underside, it was the cats that hit (that little bump just below the leading edge of the door). Banging those up? $75 for a new one, eventually. Bang up an oil pan? You could get lucky and and "just" dent it. Or, if your luck runs like mine, you'll be leaving an oil slick in the grocery store parking lot and getting towed home.
