Not much new going on, just deciding on throttle body and camshaft at this time. Hopefully it starts getting warm again. This Sunday is supposed to be pretty nice so Ill pull the wiring harness off and start to go to work.

Not a whole lot to update. Just updating for the sake of updating. I have been out of town and will be out again next week, but I had a few hours on Sunday and the weather was nice so I got outside and played with the motor a bit. Didnt want to start too much as time was limited, but tinkered a bit.

Started to think a bit about the fuel rails I wanted to run. I have a buddy with some FAST rails that I may run. I really need to find more time and get this thing tore down.

Anywho, wiring harness is off and looks like there was a motor under there.

This mess came off.

Ordered a throttle body the other day and am just kinda waiting for some time to get out there.

Warm weather is just around the corner! Sorry to hear you have to travel out of town so frequently. We are all waiting on this bird to fly!

What throttle body did you end up going with?

Yes sir! We are getting close. This trip was actually a cruise to the Caribbean so I don't feel to bad for me on this one. haha

I ended up finding a great deal on an Edelbrock 90mm. I was going to go your route, but this one just kinda fell in my lap!

This week is going to be crazy, but I think I can get out there this weekend and make some progress. My taxes arent far off so I suppose Ill use that cash to finish this thing up!

Well, had a few hours last night so Photochop (Ryan) came over and we started tearing it apart. Got quite a bit of stuff off for the small amount of time we worked on it. I have some time Thursday and I need to attack the headers, driveshaft, and some misc things. I hope to have it out by 10 AM or so. Gonna start early!! Then head to Houston for the big car show. Here are a few pics from last night and this morning I snapped. Nothing beautiful, but its progress.

Ryan..haha

The neat thing about tearing this down is that much of it is not going back so not much labeling is needed, etc.
It is much more fun

Any progress is a step in the right direction. Looks like you guys were busy last night. What are you going to do about the shaker?

I found some decent deals on f body warehouse and classic industries. I was thinking of getting a new one. I need to get a new hood also, this one is bent like so many others. It also has a few small creases that I do not like. It is just a few things on the long list of to do's....haha

I guess I meant more on the lines of "how" do you plan to use the shaker with the new engine?

Possible approach for shaker: Throttle Body EFI or Carb. Also could build ductwork for the regular EFI to curve around and pull air from the shaker. I've got the first option set up now (see pic) and plan to move to the second option when I take delivery of my donor LS1 later this month. BTW, I have access to extra shakers if interested - mostly Olds or 301s. Mine required the Olds-style housing, because of a 1/2" offset from center.

O haha sorry. I have been thinking about that, but am unsure what exactly I wanna do just yet. Something like this perhaps with just a filter base.

I bet you it is one of those things that I will change 5 times before I find something I like. Some guys have built stand out of fiberglass and some foam so I am gonna look at them all and see which I feel most comfortable with.

This looks pretty good too.

Thanks for the info. I really need to research this a bit more. I will do some searching on these methods!

What I am going to do is use the blocker performance kit that mounts a filter into the shaker. Then use my stock shaker base and modify to allow the fresh air to come from the shaker opening.
