Just got my tank in from tanks with the in tank pump, something thing I did not think of.
does it matter how far the filter is from the tank?
I want to mount it on the tank near the pump around 1' from it.
I do not know if it sences pressure to return fuel if its too close.
probley not but I do not want to find out later.

Location does not seem to affect it. I have mine almost at the front wheel and it's been there over three years. Return style rails have the regulator on them and Merv had a car where the filter was under the hood. It's all just a matter of where a good place is and what your needs are. Mine was dictated by the original filter's location because that is where the lines stopped.

Mine is on the firewall, no problems at all.
It's on the firewall only because system was setup that way previously. Going to redo the whole system this spring, dump the external pump and steel lines for an in-tank pump and OEM style nylon lines.
