It's TIME!! 70 C-10 | LSX | Agent Orange!!
Well it's finally about that time to get this project on the road. I have been researching, collecting parts and what not for the past year. So, with no further a do, here we go.
Truck is a 1970 that I have had for ruffly 6 years now. Since I have had it, just did minor stuff to it to get it running and look decent. Most wast just simple cosmetic stuff. the paint is not perfect, if fact it was painted by a student as a project. It's a 10-15 footer. Interior wise, i put new carpet, 2001 Silverado power seats and a little Chrome. It has a little massaged 350 with 350 turbo in it now. Thats about all that has been done to date.
The ultimate goal is a Pro-Touring build, but time and $$ will dictate how fast and much I do. Hopefully I will get close. Keep in mine, this will be a driver and not a show car. I plan on driving it hard with another goal of taking it on the 2013 Power Tour.
Well, here we go...

LSX already built, sitting and waiting...
And next, DECONSTRUCTION and mock up starts:
old 350 out
Started to clean the frame with wire wheel:
and then talked myself into just powered coating the frame. So, that is what I am going to do now. I might as well, everything is pretty much off and going to be replaced anyways, so it would be a waste to put on this new gear on a rusty looking frame.
So for now finished back suspension, fabed a bracket underneath bed for airpod and mocked up boyds fuel tank.
rear air bag on early classic trailing arm and c-notch:
airpod and bracket:
porterbuild cross braces (excellent product!):
interior semi gutted:

engine and trans in:
So I had purchased the Doug Thourley headers and they are a little tight of a fit. They don't rub or touch but super close to the engine mount. So I might put a spacer between the engine and engine mounts to give it just a tad more clearance. Really no biggy. Simple fix.

As for the color, it is a burnt orange, copper I guess. It is a spin off a 2001 corvette copper or orange color. I forgot exactly what it was called with Chevy.

Well, it's been a ruff one the past several months. Work has been kicking my *** as well as a couple of set back with the build. BUT, back on track again and hopefully get her on the road over the next month or so.
Here are some pix of some of the work that has been done:
Hushmat(black foil type) totally installed and flaming river steering column
Ridetech suspension buttoned up with level sensors
airpod mounted
