Will be interested in some pics of the "C" notch when you do it. I am thinking of doing a flip with standard hangers etc. Got mine off the road over winter to tidy up some small jobs.

I have a pacemaker, and have been told the TIGs play havoc with the heart rate. Dont want to take the risk. Have used a MIG, and no problems.

With the TIG welders you can get zapped through the table because of how the arc travels So I can see why that's a bad idea. And I'll definitely be taking pictures I'll probably be doing it over winter as well as making it a short bed and doing as much suspension work as possible, I've looked at some lowered long beds and it's just weird looking in my opinion and decided to make it a short bed and some time I'd like to swap to the 73-80 front end!

are you referring to the Alt wiring or the engine harness? I both done i hope. I labeled and unpinned every wire in the engine harness, untangled it all and plugged it back in and triple checked all my wires.taped it and wrapped most of it, i ordered the wrong O2 sensor pigtails and a knock sensor pigtail instead of a VSS pigtail so I emailed Current performance and I haven gotten an email back, I sent the email on Sunday and no reply all week.

Whelp after about 6 hours of painting and trying to get my trans and engine mated together i called it quits. AND I found out that when the trans shop replaced the bell housing they replaced it with the wrong one! the one the put on is too shallow and doesn't have the top bolt hole in the bolt pattern. I'm about 3/8 of an inch away from the engine and trans being together. And now the pictures!
A/C bracket painted

Notice no hole at the 12 o'clock of the bell housing

Accessories bracket

Alternator

Close but no cigar

tranny problem SUCKS

had closeto this happen to me years ago . guy said he dyno tested my c4 tranny and all was good. boy was he full of bull $hit . dam input shaft didn't even fit the conv and tossed my whole weekend to the scrap pile as I couldn't go any farther.

if he had actualy did what he said he was going to do I wouldn't have found this the hard way .

when I reman stuff or swap over I always try and reuse all original parts first before any others.

my buddy found out today he had to swap the flex plate on his 98 350 vortec . junk yard sold him a 3/4-1ton engine and flex plate. don't fit the 4l60-e when its from a 4l80-e .

always check for this stuff if you can first before install.

I hear ya there! My trans builder said the bell housing was cracked so he replaced it, (trans was in a fire it is all better now) just the wrong bell housing and dumped some fluid on myself putting the convertor in :/ is there a way to get it not to spill when you install in onto the input shaft? My convertor said it takes a half quart for prelube, do I spin it before I install it or what?
