I personally like the look of leather sides and a painted top giving you a two tone effect or all leather (either monochromatic or two tone). You could even do leather sides and painted top in the same color with the different materials supplying the contrast. It really depends on the theme of the rest of your interior. The last thing you want is the console to LOOK like it was a home made after thought.
X2...leather looks great. You could mix it up with diff textures and what not.

I'm having mine wrapped with a high quality black vinyl and having the edges stitched in red with a french stitch.

Which Android tablets are being used? I can't load Torque onto my Kindle Fire HD. Is there a way to side load it?

Good point, I forgot about multiple textures of the same material. In my area we have a store that sells bulk automotive upholstery, dyes, glue, etc.. They have tons of samples in varying colors, materials and patterns. More popular colors are offered in multiple patterns or materials. Of course they have a thing of samples so you can see what you want before they cut it in the warehouse. Sometimes we will take two different materials in the same color and stitch them together for door panels or seats.

Sorry to keep adding ideas to your plate.

Yeah that's kinda what i was thinking, doing leather or vinyl sides and painting the top,

Thanks for being patient as im moving into my new place, been a busy weekend but i have gotten almost everything moved in with the exception of some tools and my chevelle, i have to wire up the ecu and harness before it can be moved, so Wednesday or Thursday that's my goal, also this week ill be taking my templates from the cardboard console and transferring it to 1/2" wood, i will also check all the lines and angles for level and symmetry. i will also cut pieces of 2x2 for spacers and supports and couple the two wooden pieces together this week so stay tuned for the videos,

Ill try to get more pics and better videos of me actually doing the work.

You MAY have a banner problem.

Congrats on the new place. Looks like you have some land to build a bigger shop on...

So you guys that are using Torque.. how did you arrage your displays.. ?

for my Motorola / Xoom, I set this up.

Here is a screen shot of the Track Records.. you can see the red arrow in the middle that is the movement of the car tracking via GPS on a map.. not the best one to post... I strapped it to the head rest of my C4 while at a Auto-x... You can see the course in the background, you can turn off the map and see the video clear if you want.

Where you getting all the banners from?

You can sync up your CSV file from Torque with a video like Go Pro - heres an example from my crappy track times at Zmax last weekend:

I feel you. I bought my house for the workshop... which now isn't large enough.
