Some latest fab work:

Cut out the rear corner and wheel well opening. Corner was damaged and rusted. I am widening the wheel opening by 3 inches.

New panels clamped in place. Notice the widened opening with a piece I cut from the old panel





Now on to the new flush gas door I will be adding. Need to fab a recess for the door that I will weld into the side.

Beautiful craftsmanship. Great build. Just curious, would a late model ford crown vic front suspension set up work for that van? I have seen it done to the ford f100 trucks of that era but I wonder if it will work for you? Just a suggestion.

I've looked into that, I think the hub to hub measurement is about 5" too wide. Would've been a nice option

 

I did check out the Aerostar front suspension, as they are a one piece bolt on as well, with a narrower hub to hub than the Crown Vics. It is an odd hideous looking set up though

Finally got my rendering done. Had my good friend and automotive CARtoonist George Trosley do it for me.

 

 

Lots of progress this year. Put in more hours than the last 2 years combined! Still doing metal fab/body mods. Have the side doors hinged and latched. Have the rear right door hidden hinges installed. Just cut out the drivers side rear wheel well and rear corner so I can install the new replacement panels and stretch the wheel well. Post some new pics soon.
