Those motion sensors aren't weatherproof, and the field size will vary greatly based on temperature. If you're in an area where your temps are pretty regular, you'd probably be ok
but if the change like they do in Michigan (could be anywhere from -20 to 110F) they get pretty crazy. I dig the modern feature integration, for sure, but you might want to keep an eye out
for other options, just in case.

This feature is somewhat of a gimmick extra- just for fun. The door will function via the alarm remote by pressing a button, so there will always be that option if the motion sensor takes a dump. All of the relays/wiring is the same for either option since they both just send a negative signal out. So this was a simple $30 add on to what was already needed to make the door function.

I continue to be amazed by the detail work and the fabrication. An Audi convertible header latch assembly + Mazda MPV door contacts to make a remote latch setup for the rear doors? Of course, isn't that what everyone does?

Still working on the damn mistress. It is VERY close. I just went to the metal shop and got some sheet metal to start the rear roll pan/diffuser. So I will be on the van very soon. I figured I would post some pictures of the Vette. This was my first paint job and I painted it in my garage (the van spent a few nights outside for the first time in 7 years). It came out very nice. Super proud of it. By no means perfect- but in line with what you’d pay $8,000 for someone to do.

Color is original Steel Cities Gray and has a cool green tint to it from certain angles. Added 17" Rally wheels.

Body reminds me of burnished stainless steel! A great look! And those Rallye wheels! ALWAYS like them! Glad they are being reproduced in aluminum in larger diameters...

Started on the rear roll pan/diffuser. I just started welding the inner lip to the roll pan.The pan will be butt welded to the body. The diffuser will bolt to the roll pan. The diffuser will have the license plate on it and some sort of cut outs for the exhaust. The diffuser will be a different color than the body (black or dark charcoal probably). Or if it is not too intricate I may hydro-graphic it in carbon fiber.
Something along these lines but it will have the license plate in the middle
