The stance looks good. And that roof is going to be epic!

The A arms came out nice, that Corvette looks sweet out in the sun too.

Would a VW van steering bevel box help solve the steering linkage problem...or is there a problem?

Started figuring out the steering column; brake pedal/booster assembly; and the gas pedal mount. I ended up getting another column (my third one!) this one is a new Corvette C7 column that my Camaro paddle shift wheel fits on. This column has power tilt and telescopic! That will come in handy so it doesn’t feel like I’m steering a bus. Have the gas pedal and column mounted. The brake assembly is just clamped in place right now for fitment. I had to notch my framework just a touch for the booster. I will beef it up to compensate. Everything laid out very well considering all that is going on in such a tight space. The linkage looks like it will work great- waiting on some U-joints to arrive so I can mock up the linkage and Isuzu steering box. I built a framework that will go along the bottom and up both door pillars. Everything will tie into this.

The summer is too hot to work on the van. I did end up buying a 2014 Porsche Panamera Turbo at the wrecked car auction. I spent about a month fixing it up. It is now my daily driver. Just got the new wheels and tires.

Unfortunately the van has been sitting for months. After I rebuilt the Porsche we moved to a new house and house projects have consumed all my free time. The good news is I have a bigger garage that is much more organized so once I get to work it should be more productive.

Finally had a few hours to work on the van. Started laying out the final placement of the brake pedal/booster and the steering linkage/Isuzu Rodeo steering box. Made a small frame extension out of 3x2 that will tie into the front of the body. Everything lines up well and has plenty of clearance. I still need to make a mount for the steering box

Finished up the frame extension for the brake pedal/booster. Welded this to my existing subframe and then tied it into the front of the van. I also added to the mounting bracket for the pedal assembly so that it is now a ‘saddle’ type that goes around my frame. I just need to drill holes for the pedal assembly mount, then it’s on to making the mount for the Isuzu steering box.

Well I’m never afraid of going backwards on this project. After getting the final placement of the pedals I realized the seat height of the Porsche Boxster seats is just a little too high (head about an inch from the roof) plus the seat is very wide and would be difficult for the seat belt to fit around my shoulder. So I hit the junkyard for some 2003 Miata seats. They were gone but there was a 1990 Miata there. I actually liked them better and they were in incredible shape for 29 years old. I won’t even have to recover them. Spent about 4 hours making new brackets for the drivers side. This swap gave me another 2 inches of head room. Still have to do the passenger side.
