In a 280Z?!?!? How long is thing? If it works decent do you plan on casting block and heads? Great project!

Z's had an inline 6, and people fit v8's in them between the shock towers. It will fit. And it will be amazing

Weight on a complete assembled one of these?

How are you addressing the crank/cam position sensors? And won't the 45/90 phase split have primary or secondary vibrations? Cool project.

That's an idea we are entertaining after we test this design out!

No. The plane is currently in Norway, and we lost touch with the suburban owner. I'll be sure to take plenty of photos for this current install!

Previously we cut them at an angle, and then you can epoxy it while you bolt it down onto the motor. If you let it sit it, it form fits and is just as strong as the factory intake.

For this build, we're making our own intake because we decided to throw a supercharger on it.

Yep! I'll try and get some of that up later today.

It's about 8.8 inches longer than a stock ls1, and it will most definitely fit. Probably will not cast blocks and heads

We're shooting for under 2600 pounds. The Inline 6 in it was over 500, and the last LS12 we built weighed in at 442 pounds.

We plan on using a FAST computer via Brian Macy at Horsepower Connection, so the fuel injection will not be an issue.

The crank will be balanced, and should have minimal vibrations. No more than a v8. I'll let you know if that changes though.

Incredible. I grew up working exclusively on Z cars in my dad's shop, i've always loved the platform. They are getting harder to find not completely rusted away and LS swaps usually overpower the frame of the car.

I just installed a LS4 drivetrain in my Diablo Roadster kit car.

I was building a reverse rotation (installed/not engine running backwards) LS with a th425 with a Chevy Colorado front 4x4 diff but I decided to just go the easy route with the LS4.

A LS V12 would be badass in my car;

An idle clip video of this will be very lovely! Lol

How about the cam specs on the cam on the first page? Do you spec the cams almost the sameway you would normally would? Curious to know how different it could be.

Great. Thanks. Did INTMD8 (Jim) ever get in touch with you regarding a build? I gave him Brians contact info in late September of 2011 but didn't hear anything after that. He had contacted Katech about a V16 build but was a bit dismayed by the price they wanted.

We are putting our own chassis in it, there's no way a stock Z car could handle the power

We are utilizing the same profiles you would in the V8. The trick is orienting the lobes in the correct position with the crank

It's entirely possible, I might have dropped the ball. I've been beyond swamped lately so I don't exactly recall. I'd definitely be willing to speak to him now.

Another one of it on the bench:

And a V4:

And a thread from a while ago trying to find more info on these V12 LS motors:
