Air Inlet Temps are High
Yeah, I've considered this possibility. Figured that I'd do something to insulate the intake tube from the engine heat, as well as from the heat coming off the radiator. Guess I'll just have to see if I can find someone with a bit of header wrap left that they'll sell, or see how much sheet aluminum I have left when I get to that point...
It's a true Spectre cold air set-up with a enclosed sealing area from the engine. Monitoring it with HP tuners, I can see temps in 120s when its only 90 or so deg outside.
Where is the air coming from to feed the filter.? Did you cut a hole through the radiator support? Maybe you're just trapping hot air around your filter from the radiator end cap. Do you have a thermocouple or infrared probe you could use to monitor temps around the filter?

I had a little newer motor, but here is what my setup looked like before i sold the engine. Iats went down to cold from hot. The turbulence of the engine sucking in air and the mixture of the air coming in cools closer to the throttle body. hope it helps a bit. good luck
