So I know you hear about 240's getting sideways all the time but hows this for sideways haha

Repairing that nasty rust hole where the battery tray once was. And I know my welds aren't pretty. This is pretty much the first time I've ever welded.

And there was a bunch of very small rust spots in the truck so I got that all patched up with some fiberglass.

And the pile pf engine parts just keeps getting bigger and bigger...

Well my dad and I decided to turn one of the horse stalls into a small paint booth for parts since it wasn't being used. Plus we had to try out the new paint gun.

I got the crossmember and front spindles coated in some epoxy primer.

And then I hit them with some extreme chassis gloss black from eastwood

well than you arent using the parts that make it any stronger lol.

the gear ratio is a bit better for a 6spd/ls setup though, so you have that i guess.

The diff itself is still stronger than the stock 240 unit. And I doubt I'm going to break an axle shaft at my power levels anyways. Plus I had an open diff and needed an LSD option. I picked up the diff and axles for $150.

And thanks LQ4-E39, I prefer the coupe myself. I have a friend in the process of an E36 v8 swap right now. It should be pretty cool. Although it is a 5.0 mustang motor....

its not though. the diff doesnt break. the out put shafts break, and the cvs break.

vlsd are also not good for much. once they get hot they dont work. put a lot of power through them, they dont work.

if youre not worried about strong axles, your best bet is getting a kaaz or similar for the open diff.

rest of the build looks good!!

Well thanks for the compliment. I guess I'll toss it in and see how it does. If I break it down the road I'll just get an earlier q45 diff. I don't really feel like dropping the money on a kaaz.

Here is the dual pass low profile radiator from chase bays. I wanted room for an intake setup up front instead of to the side like most swaps. And the fans are rated at 1750 cfm a piece.

The place that did the sand blasting for the body was a little aggressive on some of the panels and warped them a little. So my dad and I are working on getting those smoothed out. I also shaved the are were the antenna was. And there were a couple dings that needed worked out anyway.

Smoothing out where I patched the battery tray area.

And there you have it. All caught up to how the car currently sits now. Still lots of stuff left to do.

I would be very surprised if that radiator provides enough cooling for your engine. Maybe since you are up north where its cooler it won't be so bad. My S14 with a full size dual pass radiator always had heat soak issues while sitting in traffic. With only 750cfm per fan you won't be moving much air either. I had dual 12" 1250cfm fans and I still didn't pull enough air across the larger radiator while idling.
