You should look at the zinc plating kits for your bolts. They will rust again pretty quick. Several companies make them or you can just buy the stuff. Plenty of videos on YouTube. Works great.

Damn this build is sick! The rear subframe looks insane.

I did black oxide on all of my bolts and it didn't last long. I'll do zinc from now on. It seems to be the only thing that I've found that holds up.

Sorry guys had a rough couple days. Found out one of my best friends died on Sunday.... He is actually the guy that got me into 240's and the guy that sent me that diff cover. But anyways, it's Update time!!!

First, I got my intake manifold in. FAST 102mm! Heck yes! With two nice comparison shots next to the stocker.

I installed the energy suspension bushings into the rear knuckles

Pressed in the solid aluminum subframe bushings

Chase Bays high pressure power steering line

Touge Factory aftermarket inner and outer tie rod ends

5 lug hubs and wheels bearings

And last but not least, the roll cage!

Alright I need some suggestions. I'm trying to decide in an injector. I'm trying to decide between fast 36# injectors or racetronix 42# injectors. Based on my h/c/i what do you guys think? (Prc 2.5 5.3 heads, 228r cam, and lsxr 102 intake) I'll probably be running just above 11:1 compression ratio on 93 octane.

I'm using the racetronix 42# injectors, no issues with them at all, afr 215 heads, fast 92, trex cam, aeromotive fuel rails, 11:1 compression as well on 93, can't really tell you which ones are better just I had no reason to change them, the only thing that I've done different than what I've seen on most builds, is I put a y block on the fuel line before the rails so that each rail has its own fuel supply, then from rails to regulator, does make for a less cleaner install though, and since I'm using an aeromotive a1000 fuel pump it might be overkill,

Thanks, every LS shop I ask says 42 is overkill for what I am doing. And I think if I go for more power Ill do FI of some kind or maybe a little NO2. So I think I am going to do FAST 36# injectors.

More Updates

Got the Hooker Headers conversion headers in, very nice looking pieces. 1 7/8 primaries.

The 300sx brakes came in. I had to return one of the rear calipers because it was missing the hardware and the press in bosses that the mount bolts thread into. But I received a replacement yesterday. But they are aluminum calipers, 4 piston front, and 2 piston rear. I will clean them up some more and have them powdercoated.

Also received my ISIS pro series coilovers. Not the best on the market but the market but these seem very nice and I am happy with the quality.

I got the rear subframe/suspension all assembled.

So I started test fitting everything before I get the chassis painted so I make sure everything fits. First I bolted up the rear subframe assembly.

Rear brakes mounted

Front suspension and crossmember installed with brakes

Borrrowed the wheels off of my brother Galaxie 500 to put the front of the car on the ground, his tires are a little to big though.

Mounted the seats in the car to see how they felt. I still have to take some spacers out of the driver seat so it will sit lower like the passenger seat.

I could touch the moon in that seat, lol. Typical for 240s. That vertical section between the bolts can be eliminated, and some other excess material. Cut and fab on the rails. Otherwise it's looking great man

Yeah I was considering cutting the seat mounts and welding in the rails flush with the top of the seat mount.

I had a very productive last week/weekend on the car. I got all of the bottom end together on the motor.

Scat I-beams, Mahle pistons, arp rod and mains.

Cam installed

Roll master double roller timing chain

Ported LS6 oil pump

Rear cover installed

Then I started bolting up all of the mounting hardware.

Holley/Hooker Headers Engine/trans mount kit, Canton Oil Pan, and Hooker Headers Conversion Headers

Got the block bolted to the trans to get it into the car

In the car

I REALLY hate how high these seats sit. This is with the steering wheel tilted all the way up. I am taking the car back to my fab guy to have some work done before paint, one thing which will be custom mounting the seats lower.

And the last update is the rear wheel wells/quarter panels. My dad and I started opening up the wheel wells for the wide fenders that will be going on.
