Default 4l60e fittings

Trying to locate 45 degree 1/4 to -6an fittings for my 4l60e cooling lines out of the trans. Anyone know a part # or Mfg?

Thanks

I would not recommend that fitting. As it is only a NPT with a taper pipe thread. The OEM one are NPSM - Straight Pipe Threads. Using a NPT one, if over tighten, will crack the Trans Case. And to make sure it seals and is clocked right for you, you might have to put an extra turn (will over tighten) on it.

I have not seen an 1/4 NPSM to -6AN w/45 bend. But it might be out there somewhere... ?

Some will state that they used the NPT one and have had no problems.

I used the Russell #640520 and then use a 45 degress AN -6 fitting.

Thanks for the help. My car is a 72' Chevelle so it looks like I could use the same #640520 fitting and a 45 degree an-6.
Is this the same or similar an-6 fitting?

Yes. that fitting can be used. What I used it on my Nova project, was both Braided Teflon line Hose and -6 AN fitting to connect the 3/8" hard lines. So i used the Russell Power Steering fitting for the Teflon Line hose (also Russell).

I wouldn't either, I was merely asking if that was what he was talking about. He needs to use this...

Coupled with the fitting he showed.

NPSM=national pipe, straight mechanical thread.

I've been using the same ones bczee suggested for 2 years of very spirited driving with no leaks. Be careful not to tighten them like crazy or else you will damage the threads or ruin the copper seal

Thanks everyone for the information. I plan to use the straight 1/4 NPS to -6an and either a 45 or 90 degree -6an fitting to the hose.

I tried both a 90 and the 45. The 45 works better if going forward. If using the 90. I had to route the hoses rearward.

Wow am I glad to of stumbled onto this today, I just bought NPT 90 degree fittings that have the compression collet inside to use with 3/8 hard line.

Does anyone know if the 4L60E fittings are the same as the 4L80E fittings? I need ones that'll go into a 4L80E and go to a 3/8 hard line, not braided. Can you help me get these located please

As noted before.. do not use NPT fittings... It has to be a NPSM with a crush/copper washer.

They should be the same for both the 4L60E and 4L80E.. GM was good on keeping some things consistance. The OEM fitting are the Quick Disconnect ones that use a barbed hardline to insert into the fittings and retained by a C type clip.

Many might have a spare or two sitting around if they converted to the Russell type fittings. I know I have two of them in some box somewhere.. LOL

Yes use the 45° hose ends, the 90's will hit the servo cover or trans dipstick tube

I looked at the sweet performance site and they have the NPSM fittings and have the 6an to 3/8 compression fittings but I can't figure out how to get a fitting that'll go to both the 6an males that would be between the trans fittings and the 3/8 compression fittings.
