LS1? in a custom 62 C10 chevy?
Hi guys,
I have a 62 C10 with an unidentified motor in it.
This is what I have gathered:
v8
241 heads
aluminum block
on the passenger side rear of the block (basically across from the oil filter) there is a serial number stamped : # 12573704
Can someone please tell me what type of car/truck the motor I have came out of, I am told it came out of a corvette but the intake manifold looks more like a GM truck to me.
Appreciate all the help!!
Thanks

GM made an aluminum block engine for the 2005-2007 chevy & gm 4wd 1500 trucks.Only 25% of those trucks had the alum block engines. The eng designation is L33 which is a 5.3 with flat top pistons for more comp rated at 315 hp. The LM7 engine is the iron block 5.3 engine with dished pistons rated at 285 hp,which gm put in the majority of pickups and suvs. You might just have the L33. Hope this helps.

I am told that if I remove the bracket that holds the alternator, there is a stamp on the block that will tell me what Liter motor I have.
Is that true? If so, that would help.
