Make sure to do a drive by video clip where we can hear the supercharger whine!

Thanks!

I haven't heard of much progress here lately. Looks like they're busy working on a bunch of other cars I did get a photo of some of my parts that were powdercoated like the CAI and upper radiator shroud

Found some other pictures. The engine shop had an open house this past weekend that I wasn't able to make it to

Pics from the open house can be seen here

Guess that leak!

they said it was likely a "bad casting" Lots of people are thinking that either the bolts are too long (doubt it, they should be ARP exhaust bolts) or maybe someone drilled out a bolt previously and went too far.

A third option would be to try welding it all up and redrilling/tapping the hole. If this were my car I would probably start with putting thread sealant on the bolt and seeing how that goes. How would you like to proceed?
I opted for the thread sealant. I've seen where many other people fixed similar issues with good results. I'm crossing my fingers.

Wow...this totally sucks!! To be this far in your build and now you find this...what a set back! I truly hope the thread sealant works for you. I can't imagine...pulling that head and trying to weld up the bolt hole and then re-tapping it.

Good luck Buddy!

The thread sealer worked! They drove the car a bunch today and started tuning.

The bad: the oil pressure sender broke. They fixed and relocated it, but it leaked onto the clutch and its slipping. They pulled the transmission to look at it.

The good: it sounds mean!

thanks guys. Its not QUITE done yet...seems like they want to keep the car and do some more drivability tuning. Thats fine. I gave them a deadline of 12-7-13 for me to pick up the car. Since it wasn't met it looks like I won't have time to get the car for a few months.

This whole project has went way over budget, and time constraints. I'm glad its mostly done and I'll be happier when I start driving it in the spring..

I took a trip down to pcm of nc today. My car is mostly done, so I wanted to check out the work, and take my car for the first drive in the last 6 months its been apart

It fires right up like a clap of thunder...its surprising! The 4" Mufflex exhaust sounds amazing, and surprisingly enough doesn't seem to drone at all in overdrive.

The car drive smooth with no bucking or jerking that I could tell.

I did a 20-100 pull in just a few seconds! The power is unreal! A 300 horsepower increase is quite a jump lol. The BEST part (to me) is that I can't hear the blower! Not at idle, not cruising, and certainly not at WOT. Noone will ever suspect whats under the hood

You my friend....have made a lot of us very jealous !! This has turned out to be an awesome build!! The sound of the exhaust at idle...that's just sounds so sexy!!

Congratulation on your first drive ...had to have made it all worth while!

The only problem I see on this entire build...is you can't hear the S/C . I know you said that made you happy, which is what counts! But for me...there is nothing better than that whine coming from under the hood. The louder the better...

Wow...I bet it's going to feel like a long winter...lol!! Hopefully we have an early spring so you can get out and drive...enjoy!
