That is great to see tech members helping each other out on something like this.

Nice find on the nomad. I have been trying to find a 66/67 Nova or a 55 chevy truck. I hope I find one when I get my 32 done.

If the original 265 fails to respond a 5.3 may be in its future. Carbed intake with efi gotta keep the old school feell on this one.

Well the nomad project just got about 10 years shorter than scheduled. I found another one in kansas that is solid and complete got it for a song.... The first one is already sold and the 4 door is pending.

Sense I've owned the 4 door I have grown found of the neptune green so my plans have changed from the cutlass grey I had planned.

What do you fellow swapper thank about the L76 engines with 6 peed autos? They seem to be lower priced than others. Any issues to consider using these for a swap?
Thanks
Rocky

First off, where at in Kansas, and what was the song? I can't sing, but if they're giving away Nomads for them around here, I could do my best!

As for the L76 with the 6 speed auto, you'd better be prepared to do some floor cutting to get that trans in there, but if it needs any floor work that's a moot point. I'll be following along, keep us updated.

Well sense none of you showed any love for a l76 it forced me to pull the trigger on a 2006 vet ls2 today. Should be plenty of ponys for a 55 nomad.

Way cool, our family car from 55-69 was a yellow/white Nomad with the green interior. Was supposed to be mine but............. Oh well. My brother has a 57 that is more of a resto show car. This should be a pants full of fun. I want to do a 55 2 dr someday if I ever get the chance. Had several in the distant past.

Jeeze BC, I didn't think you were that old! 1974: my Nova had only just rolled off the line and I wouldn't be around for another 10 years! Tell me, what was Fred Flinstone like?

Rocky, cool project! Can't wait to watch you breath some modern life back into it.

I thank I might have just sold one of Fred's rides LOL. The nomad I just sold had the same style floorboards best I recall in 1974. Speaking of Rubble I dug up the only piece of my original 55 from back in the day and used it to build my custom dash. Original oil & gen lights will be used for chk eng & brake. Original high beam bowtie & turn sig arrows will be used. I mocked up one this past weekend. I'm looking at a few different gauges to use in the final version but I kinda like this one.
