Small update.

Car's bein running phenomenal. Instant torque is awesome.

Got it home and cleaned up, and some new vinyl for the window

Was asked to be on display front and center at Mishifest, couldn't say no.

Even let one of the Mishimoto models borrow it for a bit

More miles, more working out the rest of the kinks and bugs. Took it out for Cars and Coffee

Made the trip to Mach V's Charity Car Show. (This event last year was the last day the SR ran, was a fitting homecoming)

Even ended up winning one of the categories.

Hour+ drive each way in the heat showed me way too much heat is coming into the cabin. Black chassis paint inside radiates all that heat in confined space, goes to other black parts, and cycle repeats, making the cabin an oven.

Solutions!

Wrapped the exhaust in DEI Titanium wrap

Covered the OEM cat shield in leftover DEI Reflect-a-cool tape

Depending on how much these do/don't help, interior is likely getting repainted to a grey color. Every bit helps.

LOVE the build man....even the S15 front end conversion which I am personally not a fan of usually came out sick. The car looks stellar.

My buddies dad restores all classics and uses this stuff behind the dash and where the carpeting goes facing the fire wall. Allegedly this stuff works wonders:

Thanks! If I still had any carpeting or interior, I'd consider that. The only things inside are the dash and door trims. No carpet, sound deadening, panels, etc.

Boredom strikes again! Actually paint prep strikes again. Same diff.

Tiny asian man. For all those nooks and crannies.

Learned my lesson last time. Paint in the nostrils and lungs is no bueno.

Dat silver

Need to find the size of the valve cover nipples, getting a vented catch can. Too much cc pressure.

Repaint is a mild success. Radiant heat feels less, and trans tunnel is touchable while driving most of the time. Downside is the tint stuck to the tape, so I lost my tint. No bueno. But, it's not an oven anymore.

DN was fun. Car and sponsor parts got good attention. And got some shots with MishiModel. Got shared by Mishimoto again, which is always fun.

Back to build-type things. Under lot of WOT, dipstick likes to blow up out of the tube and shoot oil er'rywhere. Apparently common, stock PCV system can only handle so much. This arrives tomorrow:

Should handle the pressure nicely.

Thanks!!!

Best copilot

Today was fix-it day. Replaced a newly-leaking valve cover gasket. Had the catch can installed, and was still squeaky clean/was still getting dipstick explosions, which tells me something clogged my new PCV system. Decided to just bypass it completely and run valve covers to the vented can. Did some hard pulls, everything's golden. Now to just get all that oil residue off....

Also found a new DIN cover from Nissan, and got the single din receiver mounted up. Next week I'll have the tablet setup to do my entertainment, as well as OBD gauges, gps, etc. Until I get the speedo working, it's working for that too.

Dude, I was totally not expecting that - busted out laughing, & scared my dog (who'd been asleep at my feet)... You cruel bastard!!

Seriously though, it looks like you're having a lot of fun with it. What's the red finish on your center console?? I really like that color...

Haha glad somebody laughed It's to match my Iron Man Red powdercoat mix I have on the strut towers/brakes. Basically just picked a matte metallic out of the paint keyrings, and was pleasantly surprised to find it had flake lol. It'll all get covered tho at some point. Whenever I have the funds for a new livery, it'll get wrapped to match.

Thanks!! Not sure what the weight is, on my to do list.

Catch can fixed the oil explosions, so it was time for a wash.

So there I was. Havin a good ol' time.

Ex:

Fresh deer roadkill decided it wanted to meet my car.

Warning: Gore.

Tried the hose...still stinks.

Borrowed a pressure washer. These things are awesome. I need one.

Raceramps - even more awesome. Need a set of these too.

Battle mode.

Finally finished the tablet install. Wanted it removable. Got a Nissan radio delete plate, and screwed the Proclip mount into that

Had the tune finalized, runs a decent bit smoother now. Got most of the bugs worked out. Now it's just prep for 200 DoD and order a couple tires.

Oh. Had to go do emissions too. I lol'd.

Hai. I are alive.

Tried out drifting the LS finally

Also let FD driver Dan Savage play with it

Having another issue though. Starter has never worked right. Figured it was a bad reman. Finally got a NEW starter, had it professionally installed, and still clicks. It has to click a few times, then you hear the starter finally start to move a little/loosen up, THEN it starts up just fine. Like it's stuck, and it takes some clicks to knock it loose. Shouldn't be through two starters though. Thoughts?

insufficient ground, or bad feed wire connection, or maybe heat soak if its after it runs awhile

Connections were tight when they took it off/still tight now. Got a fatty ground on it. Does it at first start too, plus it's covered in reflective tape.
