Default ls1 monte carlo

Hey guys I'm new to the site and am currently wanting to do a ls1 t56 swap Monte. I currently have a 04 cts v its one of my dream cars but I've always liked monte carlos (4gen) but I want to do it right I found a ls1 t56 with wiring harness drive shaft and all the accessories but I don't want to run it stock I want to get around 400 to the wheels and still maintain it as a daily drive so a couple questions want can I run in that platform to get me around that range and what rearend can I fit in there that will link up right also can I use the 98-02 camaro wiring harness or do I need a custom one since its going into a monte

Post ls3 / Monte Swap

I am finishing a ls3 engine swap into my 87 Aerocpe M/C. I have used the GM Connect & Cruise package which is a easy install. But have made many mods to fuel system and wiring. Their are many after market sites that have parts for a swap. My m/c has the F41 suspension that works well with the added torque and HP. But may have to change the rear end later because of added power? Found a stronger late Impala rear end will bolt in fine. Do the reserach before starting.

Im not sure about being able to use the F-body driveshaft, I went custom 3.5in to do it once and forget about it and it wasn't that expensive. Heads and cam swap can get you the 400whp you want and maintain drivability. I used my donor car harness I converted to standalone and wired it up to a separate fuse block. Only the starter wires and ignition trigger from the factory car is what I used from the Monte. The Monte wiring cant really support a LS swap which is why I used a separate fuse block.

I am still running around on my stock 10bolt 3.73 geared rear end, Granted I have only put 500miles since I dropped my blower on it. But have put 4000miles on it with a stock 5.3 and T-56 and I have no noises or issues. I re-sealed mine and fresh fluid and that was it.

Now I am making 426whp and 416wtq on the stock rear, I run 275/35-18 Nitto NT-05 tires in the rear so they are sticky tires but the car rips them loose in 1st and 2nd. I do not beat the driveline with hard shifts so I feel its why the rear is holding so well.

A lot of my money went into my fuel system and bolting a better suspension to the car to handle the power and speeds that it will hit. These cars were super scary above 90mph but with full suspension I have had mine to 140mph and its still nothing like it use to be with the whoa **** factor.

The F41 is a nothing special package of body braces and a little bigger sway bar up front and rear sway bar, many companies make a much better setup to tie the frame rails together as well as better transmission crossmembers to keep the chassis in check.

I am also not to familiar about the late Impala rear bolting in, if you are referring to 94-96 Impala SS then it is way to wide to get under the Gbody.

Unhappy Details

I am puzzeled by your comment because there was nothing said that may be of any benefit when doing a swap other stateing the obvious?

And yours previously to mine was beneficial?

The questions he asked I responded to, the only one I was vague to was how to get 400whp from a LS1 which there is over 100 ways to accomplish that.
