Getting a lot closer.........Got the Radio all hooked up and installed.......It's the stock AM radio that has been reworked with all solid state insides......AM/FM Stereo and Sirius/XM .......Pretty cool.....The heater/ A/C unit is ready for charging......one problem I had that I knew would be an issue at a later time were the Dome / Console courtesy lights didn't work.....so.....I thought I had something hooked up wrong.......well, today I wanted to get the inside finished up and it was time to deal with that issue.......I had just put some Chinese LED bulbs in those two spots and since they were brand new I never gave it a second thought that the bulbs were no good........LOL.....After checking and replacing the Chinese "Garbage" with regular bulbs everything works just fine.......the only thing that doesn't work out of all the wiring and electrical issues is the console clock bulb..........Got Lucky........Here are some pic's from today.....a long way from a week ago.........The Wheels are finished and are in transit.....so .....we are getting ready for the exhaust system and front end alignment.......

I've been lurking, watching your build. Very nice.

I'm doing a '61 Bubbletop with an LS3. I have a long way to go.

Starting them up for the first time...gets the blood flowing.

This is my third LS conversion........and I'm always amazed at the ease of starting these engines......especially after sitting for a while........I actually sold off all my mid 60's muscle cars as I lost interest in them after getting involved with the LS style engines......It's the only way to travel.......

Very good. It is always a nice and fuzzy feeling when you get the motor to fire up.

Yup. LS engines are great. This is my second. My first is in my '56. It's an '04 crate LS1 vette engine. It replaced a 350 with a B&M blower...fun, but I agree, LS is the only way to go.

Car is coming along nicely! Did you use the Dakota senders for the oil/water pressure or did you use the CANBUS module that plugs into the OBDII port?

WooHoo!!

Congrats. Sorry you still have all the "little stuff" still to go, but spring time will come and you'll be ready.

Well done.

Until the wheels and tires get here .........the car is still sitting on Jack stands..........I've had a major problem I have been chasing for a week and finally figured it out.....After getting the car started and to get the trans filled.......I was going to run the trans thru the gears and get the fluid flowing to set the proper level........as I clicked the car into gear......it started shaking violently.........WTF!!!..........Scared the heck out of me.............I've never had this happen before.......Humm!!!.....I got a brand new driveshaft assy.......Hummm!!!.......So......I start the car again and click it into gear and look under the car.......and the rear axle assy is bouncing all over the place........HUmmm!!!.........So.....I start thinking about it and come to the conclusion that it is driveshaft related..........Now!!!........My drive line angle to driveshaft was a little more than I would have liked so I figured the universals were fighting each other as the pinion angle wasn't set and I thought that maybe I was at that point of nothing was in scync.....So.......I go ahead and raise the back of the trans to get te trans/driveshaft angle down to 3 degree's........Great.........Get everything put back together.....start the car and it still almost shook itself off the jack stands............Shut everything off and get under the car and turn the driveshaft by hand and as it was being rotated it would bind up and after putting some effort into it , it would snap past the bind point and rotate smoothly........did it again and watched the rear axle assy and I could see it moving as the shaft was going thru the "Bind" spot...........Look closer at the rear universal and I noticed that the Universal joint was installed backwards and the raised contoured portion that the grease fitting was installed in was actually hitting the pinion shaft threads........I pulled the driveshaft out and the theads were smashed in about 1/16" .........Duhhhhhh!!!!!..........I got out my little grinder and ground away the contact area.....put the shaft back in ..........started it up and clicked it in gear and ......smooth as silk.........So......I got the drivetrain angle in the "Sweet Spot" and found the problem.....I replaced both universals cause you just never know......Sometimes this car stuff is hard!!!!......LOL

I spent the day today getting a bunch of Radiator hoses cut and fit...........I'm gonna be gone for a couple of weeks and when I get back the wheels and tires will be sitting waiting to be installed.......So.....the list of things that remain to be finished are......get the rear speakers installed......hook up the power wires to the power antenna.......Bleed the brakes one more time.....Get the Exhaust system installed .......and get the front end aligned.........heres a pic of the wheels....

We got back from out trip last night and I was out in the garage at 7am this morning...........Just had to get going again....Before leaving I got the radiator hose situation all sorted out .....It ended up I had to cut up two hoses each to get the shape and bends to come out correctly.......while gone I ordered some Gates Shrink clamps and some radiator hose couplers from Jegs.....That was the first thing I did this morning was to get the hoses put together and get the coolant into the system.........No Leaks......Then I finished up getting the O2 sensors installed along with getting all the wires in place....Then I bled the brakes again and I'm still not happy with the pedal......still feels a little spongy......(I hate Brakes)........then I put the wheels and tires on the car and got the car on the ground for the first time.........gonna let it sit for a couple and then get the coil-overs adjusted correctly..........my hands are Dirty and it's time for a Nap!!.......Here are some pic's from today....
