twin turbo l33 in a 85 monte carlo ss advice
Hey guys, I'd like to pick your brains about this build. Here's what I have so far..
1985 Monte SS about 3400 lbs
two Holset Hy35's ( t-3 footprint about 64 pounds per min maxed)
l33 alm blk, stock rotating assembly, 243 heads
I'm going to use the truck intake/ tb
E85 fuel
Megasquirt 2
Th400 (reverse manual-t brake)
ford 8.8 31 spline axles, carrier
The car will be a street car with weekend strip duty. Im undecided on the cam, converter and gears. I'm wanting a streetable 700 rearwheel hp car.
I'm thinking between a 3.08 and 3.55 gear, 3600 stall and maybe a tsp 224r cam. Any ideas, suggestions?
Oh, I don't care about cam surge or a lumpy idle.

I'd do HX35's not HY's. The little 9cm2 T3 housing will choke like crazy with 163ci each. The HX35 has the exact same 56mm compressor wheel with a larger 12cm2 T4 turbine housing and a slightly larger turbine wheel. Twin HX40's would be the **** but they are harder to come by.

I'm going to limit myself to a 7k redline. So, Im curious as to how they will perform. If they choke , x35's and 40's are common here. I live in the middle of a performance diesel mecca.
