I tested today with 55ohms on the sensor side and it hard pegged the gauge to the far right. Not what I was hoping for.
I dialed up 90ohms and it put the needle in the end of the hot zone, which seems about right.
I tested it that way thru a warmup cycle to the point where the fans came on at the 04 Vette BIN stock setting of 226 F.
190F put it a little above the left line.
212F put it at the second line
228F put it 1/3 thru the normal range
Looks like the stock 67-72 resistor will work fine.

Attached the factory F-body diagram, may be helpful.

Here’s an inexpensive option for the 3 pin connector if you’re able to do nice crimps.

So you are saying, you just plugged the third wire from the '98 temp sensor to the factory 67-72 gauge and it worked? That's awesome, because my 72 Vega GT gauge is supposed to use the same sender as 67 -72 trucks (G1852). I was banking on that being the case and have wired my car accordingly, but haven't fired it. As long as its close, I will be fine... as I am running Terminator X and will have my handheld mounted under the dash. Thanks for coming back and updating.

@Zanie
Yes, it's hooked up like stock. I'm ok with the range it gives on the gauge.
Give it a shot.

I put a Camaro sensor and three wire pigtail in my LS converted C20 69 drive by wire truck. While the sensor and gauge gives a reading it is WAY too cold. My truck does run cool (thank God) it isn't running that cool. I think I will either add an aftermarket gauge or add a old school temp sensor someplace else in the cooling system.
