Default L99 in an LT WS6

Back in May I bought a 96 WS6 for $1800 as a project car that supposedly only needed a fuel pump. Come to find out the car had been left outside with the injectors out and the hood off (god knows why). When I had got the car back to my dads shop and taken the throttle body off to take a closer look, the intake was filled with limescale, rust, and water. Likewise with the heads. I immediately took off the intake pulled the plug wires and took out the spark plugs. I then proceeded spin the crank to get the water out of the heads. I bought a replacement intake and will soon get the LT1 running.
Yesterday I came across an L99 with a spun bearing for $300 and thought it would make for a fun project build with my pops. However, i dont know what all i will need for the swap. I am dropping the LT through the k-memember, and dont know what the best new k-member would be? I know I have to get a new oil pan but I dont know what to get. Do I need a new steering rack and pinion? Im just a 16 year old kid with good taste trying to gain knowledge. Anything helps.

I'm doing the swap right now let me know if you have any specific questions. If it were me and I lived in OK the land of car parts a plenty I would probably look for a running LS1 out of a 99+ fbody. I bought mine as a complete drop out of a 99 the k - member, front suspension rack etc. There is a great LT1 swap sticky that goes over everything pretty well.

Like I said feel free to ask any questions. You will need a new K member, a stock one will work fine if your on a budget. You will also need a LS1 rack and pinion especially if you have headers, you need the F body oil pan, front accessories and intake, wiring harness, and TB. Then you'll have to figure out something for the transmission.

I'm assuming the engine has an *** load of miles and that's why I'm getting a good deal on it. I figured I'd have the block bored over to a 6.6 and start fresh. Then design my car around the engine (nostalgic 6.6 TA on the hood, snowflakes, etc.) but I was think about running a stock crank and I don't know if I should go with forged rods and pistons or just pistons or just rods?? New heads or have my stock heads ported? Cam? And most of all how to do it on a 16 year olds budget.

I'm just going to get this LT going and rebuild the top end. When I finish that I'm starting on this L92 and piecing together all the parts I need. I appreciate all the help guys. I'll try and post a lot of pictures throughout the build.

Bought the engine today. It's not even an l92, it's an lq4. But for $300 and the fact that it's here and now I went ahead and bought it. It didn't spin a bearing, it had a worn lobe on the cam. Pretty upset it wasn't what I was planning on getting, but you get what you pay for. Hoping that doesn't come back to bite me.
