What???? It is next on the list Ron. Between working crazy hours and the show the past few months have just flown by. Unfortunately April is totally shot. I am traveling for work a bunch this month and have a couple weekend trips planned.

You get the Nova out yet?

I should come over and at least put you in closed loop. It would be happier. Hopefully you haven't been into much boost.

I have 4 other turbo tunes on my plate now.

I haven't had the Nova out.

Damn dude, that is awesome. You are going to be quickly hard to get ahold of =)

Not much if any boost at all. Just babying it around working any other bugs out that might pop up.

Ill hit you up and we ca get together one of these days.

Thanks Ron.

All comments removed? I'd write one, but I don't see where.

T,
Agreed...I get a lot of flack with my Cougar build. Even when I did my GTO the Pontiac faithful were in a huge uproar.

+1 You build a kick-a$$ truck! Take a bow!

I too get $hit too at the Ford-Trucks forum, so I only drop in occasionally, now. This LS platform is more compact, with great aftermarket support and significantly cheaper.
Folks here, too, seem much more open-minded (and positive!) than the blue-oval crowd there.
I would have considered using a Coyote engine if all else was equal, but that was +$4500 for similar to my L92 / 6L80 combo.

Guess I don't need to preach to the choir here.

Screw them! This is one of the nicest old ford pickup builds I have seen. I would gladly give you piles of cash to take it off of your hands. Keep up the great work!

+1. Last night I made my first post on The HAMB, asking about an LSx into an AMC Rambler Classic Cross Country. Within an hour they deleted my post!

I guess they get to decide what qualifies as a hot rod. Sorry to disappoint.

When you yank that junk 6.0 out of there to convert it to a 5 point slow, let me know. I'll take it off your hands.

The anonymous comment section of any online article is the cancer of the internet. I would not take any of it seriously. I think it's funny people still care what goes in what.

I think your truck deserves nothing but high praise. It's beautiful! I have a 54 F100 that I plan on doing something very similar to what you've done. Thanks for paving the way! Keep up the good work.

Thanks for all the kind words, I am not giving up or anything, just a little bit of a break from the truck.

Got the truck out to a couple of good cruises the past few weekends. It was pretty fun, truck gets lots of looks when I pop the hood.

Ron came over today and we made another half dozen or so changes to the tune. It is running better and better each time. Peaked at 10lbs of boost, we got almost all of the knock out and are making progress on the boost side of things. Driveability stuff is pretty much nailed at this point. It is running in closed loop mode and very nicely as well.

Truck is fast, even just like this its fast. Makes boost at 2400 RPM and just keeps climbing. We were not able to make and great high rpm passes as it just gets too fast for city even freeway boost pulls.

Ron has learned a ton on this stuff and is doing such an excellent job. I really cannot thank him enough at this point

I do need to install a blow off valve though, we stopped tuning for today until I get one.

Thanks again Ron, truck is getting fun to drive now =)

That was fun.
The boost coming in that early will be tricky for keeping it out of knock.
I have been reviewing logs and we can get back to it when you get the BOV on there.
Keep me posted.

Found this on the magazine rack at Borders this weekend......

Pretty cool write up as well.

Have not turned a wrench on the pickup in a couple months. Sounds like I need a passenger front wheel bearing assembly and keep on with the tune.

Still planning on an interior re do as well but lately just been enjoying the truck and getting it out on the road.

Thanks for everyone's help along the way on the forum.

I've been watching you build this piece of art for a while. When I opened the mailbox and saw your truck on the cover my wife got to here about it for a good half hour. Congrats! We all might not be at your level, but seeing yours makes me want to got out into the shop and get back to work!
