Thanks, I am pretty sure that it is in good hands at this point. Aaron does good work and understands all the work I have put into this thing to get it to this point. I sure am excited to see it with paint on it and going back together. Its going to be far nicer than I initially anticipated......like by a long shot.

Haha.....I don't keep much stuff that I build. I might play with this one for a few years though, pretty cool little truck.

Thanks too for the props. I miss my first gen quite a bit. That truck was a friggin work horse. Aside from rear brake problems it was a trooper. Much better than this damn third gen I have now. Newer is nice but they just don't build stuff like they used to, both for the good and the bad. That truck ended up in Texas but I put almost 15,000 miles on it after I built it. Never once left me stranded and we drove from Portland all the way to Homer Alaska and back, towed my buggy to Moab and back and all over Oregon.

It was actually kind of nice last night to go home and not work on the truck, probably last only a few days though and I will be chomping at the bit to get back to work on it.

Wish I could've seen it in person, I'm in Anchorage Alaska.

I can imagine how it feels to have ur project gone for now . I had to take mine to work so I can swap out the rear end and wire up the engine and I feel bad when I walk by the jack stands when I get home.

Haha.....same as me, get more **** ready for the powder coater and painter.

Stopped in real quick on my way home from eastern Oregon today and dropped off the strikers to Aaron.

I feel like I am in good hands now. Dent on the bed is all hammered out and welded up, remaining holes in the doors are all welded up and filled, front and rear glass are all out, bed is off. Hood is done at the blaster with the front bumper filler piece. All the seam sealer is stripped out and the body is all sanded down.

That is in just a couple days.

I am super friggin stoked.

Door Handles, tailgate handle, rear bumper, bumper bolts are all back from powdercoat and look great in the same silver. Rear bumper brackets also got the treatment in 20% gloss black powdercoat. John, the powdercoater I am using did a great job working with some old shitty parts, like the rear bezel and passenger door handle. They are not riddler car finish, but should look great on the truck.

I need to figure out a drivers mirror. I need to be able to pull the glass out of the mirror so that I can powdercoat it but have yet to figure out the best way to do it. Any suggestions?

So, I managed a trip out to Aarons to check on the truck, and maybe have a few cold beverages with him..

Truck looks good, its straight and I really like that. All body work is done, stake pockets welded up, antenna welded up, fuel filler door welded up all the holes in the bedside welded up, rear reflectors are gone. Truck got primer laid on it yesterday and it was drying when I stopped by.

Bed looks awesome compared to what it looked like when I dropped it off there. It had a lot of work done on it. Lots of blocking and sanding. Looks great without any trim, bumper holes, stake pockets or anything on it.

Jamb work will all get done on Monday and then Aaron is off to Rockabilly for a week. Looking forward to having it back.

Cool update! Nice to see the truck straightened out and wearing a fresh coat - even if it's just primer right now. Ready for color?

Not quite, they were going to shoot the jambs, and inner doors on Monday. Then the rest of the body work will get blocked out a few more times and color will go on. Probably early next week I am guessing before it sees any external color.

They still need to do all the prep and primer on the hood, front fenders, front upper and lower panels as well as the tailgate. Hopefully Chris is working on that stuff this week while Aaron is on vacation.

Got an update from Chris and they are moving along. Jambs are painted. I think Aaron is back this week so progress should continue. Hope to have it back by the end of the month. Looks good so far.

Took a spin out to Aarons to check out the progress on the truck today. Looks great so far.

They finished up all the prep and shot the paint on the bed earlier today. Seam sealer looks great, like factory, bed rails are very clean and straight, even inside the box. Body work looks great as well. Paint is single stage PPG, with enough on to color sand it flat.

Monday is going to be color sanding and buffing on the bed, he is hoping that they can get it out to get the bed line ex'd. Its going to be under the rails all the way around, front lip and tailgate as well.

Super excited to see it moving along.

I would love to do the Power Tour this year, but its just so far from home. I would need to have three weeks off work to do it.

LS Fest though is still on my to do list, hopefully this year. No guarantees though =)

I would love to go.

Looks like your build has caught some attention. I just saw gasmonkey announce they were going to build a pro touring style 1968 f100. I think it's pretty cool that people are warming up to these f100s.

Ha, a couple years ago I drove one on a test drive. It was just a $1k beater. I passed on the deal. If only I knew the potential!
